kill every human in amestris to create a stone to give itself the power of god? if you look at it from it’s perspective, it’s really not weird at all. father was an ambitious homunculus who wanted to obtain the power of a god and take over the land. by gaining the souls of humans all across amestris to make itself a philosopher’s stone, it technically got the power it wanted(not entirely sure how a teenager like ed was able to defeat it, though?), though hohenheim and the xerxians were able to revive everyone after they had died with their own power, homunculus probably lost some of his god power, which is probably how ed was able to kill it. now i haven’t exactly watched the anime nor have i read the manga in a few months, so i may have to reread it again to freshen up, but in father’s mind, it wasn’t strange at all. it was just hungry for power. or, it just wanted to be free from it’s flask(im sorry im not clever--).

I mean, it was kind of simple, but the way he carried it out was completely complicated and probably a little over dramatic, you feel? Like maybe the homunculi werent that necessary. I get why they were there, but even if he just toned it back a little and didn't give them %100 free rein, it would have been more surprising, and maybe less people would have been looking into it. MAYBE havoc could still walk and hughes would be alive but you know. Complicated villain back story stuff... Actually, this guy kind of has no reason to be evil. He just is. Amazing.
