Hello! My name is James and Bug. I'm Transmasculine and Papilogender, and I use He/Him pronouns, as well as these neos. I like to listen to "weirdcore," or "dream come" music, as well as the bands IDKHBTFM, Slipknot, Korn, Twenty One Pilots, Ghostemane,,and I'm probably missing some. I like the dark, the snow, science, chemistry, biology, cryptozoology, aliens, drawing, cooking, cleaning, playing video games, making characters, reading, animals as well as my boyfriends Toby and Oliver. I have Somniphobia, Podophobia Agoraphobia, Glossophobia, Traumatophobia, Nosophobia, and I'm a hypochondriac. I also have major anxiety and I suffer from Depression. I have a hard time reading and writing due to my Dyslexia/Dyspraxia, and I'm also Bipolar. I'm also questioning whether or not I have some form of identity disorder (I'm not self-diagnosing. I have an appointment with my psychiatrist coming up.)
I tend to stim by biting my hands/arms, touching my thumb to my fingertips, singing songs I enjoy, rocking, popping my knuckles, rubbing my hands together, biting anything I can get my hands on, typing a ton (because of my mechanical keyboard) and "grinding" my teeth (it's not really grinding, it's more just moving them against each other.)
I try my hardest to stay happy and I try not to let things bring me down like I used to. Unlike before, I have a reason to want to be alive and I never take it for granted. I never used to plan for the future because I never thought I would be alive this long. Now I know I want to be a Veterinarian! I wanted to join the Navy but I can't due to health reasons. I'm an Athiest and anti-religion and I dislike talking about it so please don't message me about it.
Sorry for the wordvomit :') My dms are always open so feel free to message me! I may take time to respond since I either talk too much or go completely non-verbal.

Hi there! I'm Milo and I'm an Autistic adult. I go by he/him! (I am still re-learning what terms are acceptable/not acceptable due to growing up in a different time and where it was commonly called aspergers. I've learned it's an outdated term thanks to all the resources! This thread will help me learn more about myself and the community. <3 )

I've been showing symptoms for my entire life, but I had no idea I was Autistic until I was professionally diagnosed when I was in high school.

I have APD (auditory processing disorder) and hypersensitive hearing. Many sounds can make me overstimulated and leading to a sensory overload. I can even hear things in a higher frequency, but there are sounds where I cannot handle.

I do get hyper fixations, either be fandoms, games or even subjects/topics. (Nuclear energy/medicine and old TV/game sets are two of them) My recent fixation is Miraculous ladybug!

My stims are mainly by scent, visual and touch. My favorites is the smell of certain colognes, scents of books, and foods. For touch, it's velvety fabric, fur (I own cats and a bunny; I love animals) and fleece. I carry a small plush to work, so I can stim whenever I get too stressed. I have too many small pocket-sized plushies. XD I don't have sound stims due to my sensitive hearing. Water is my ULTIMATE favorite visual wise, and glow aesthetics.

I read through the entire thread, I'm happy I'm not alone sensory wise! Clothes shopping is a nightmare due to fabrics and such. I nearly wear the same pants everyday because it's the only thing that's sensory friendly for me I can find AND be able to wear to work.

It's nice to meet everyone, I hope everyone has a happy new year! <3 I'll be bookmarking this thread. :)

A friendly hello and welcome to all the new members who’ve posted here recently/semi-recently, it’s super cool to see more of y’all join the club and talk about your own personal experiences ! <3

Veering a little off topic from the new members stuffs for a moment, does anyone known of any stim toy companies/brands that y’all would recommend? /NF (Not Forced)
I’m more specifically looking for anything that I can chew on (ie. those more bendy then normal straws that are more for chewing then for straw purposes), but I’m always open to ones that aren’t made with the purpose of chewing on it as well (ie. Fidget Cubes ).

Dervish: I don't usually respond to tone tags since they read as the opposite for our autistic brain, but I figured since I know of a few and even if it is forced I don't really mind. Please don't use tone tags if you decide to respond.

There's a masterlist here but it's a few years old and might be outdated, someone I've followed on Tumblr for awhile also made a stim toy stop. We haven't used any of them personally yet so use your own digression

Thank you for the recommendations, I’ll have to check those out when I find the time. :D

No offense, but I shouldn’t have to say this because I thought this was basic common decency for most forum users, but please don’t respond to my posts as I’ve had you personally blocked on here for quite a while, and I shouldn’t even have to get into my reasonings as to why I have to tell you that most people with basic common decency who are blocked don’t try to do what you’re doing now.
TLDR; Leave me alone, I shouldn’t have to make it public knowledge that I’ve blocked you in order for you to not interact with me. /SRS (Serious) /NEG (Negative Connotation)

I don't know if I should reply, but I have to say how would I know you had us blocked? We don't really check user profiles unless we're going to trade, the only indication of being blocked is that there's no signatures which some people don't have or disable anyway. I genuinely don't know who you are and the only reason I replied was because I know of stim toy resources and thought it would be helpful to you or others.

I went ahead and blocked you mutually and I'm sorry for upsetting you, but I really wouldn't have known if you didn't say anything.

Edit: I just realized I might want to add more to this so it's not just... this, but on the topic of stim toys do you have any that you particularly like? I usually use Bakugan to stim but I also have a keychain fidget I use a lot and a chew necklace I like.
