I'm planning on reading A Christmas Carol for a book report. Anyone here read it?

That is my favorite book by Charles Dickens. X) I wanted to read it this year before Christmas, but....alas, I don't have the time. :(

That is one heck of a Christmas tree!

Why do you skip to the end? That ruins the whole book, in my opinion! The end is meant for the end; if it were meant to be read first, it would've been on the title page! X)

I know, right? It's awesome.

The Growling Wolf wrote:hello, can any of you guys help me? I'm looking for a horror author a bit like Stephen King. I think I'm going to get some Jmaes Herbet books and some Stephen King ones for christmas, as well a book voucher. if anybody knows of anything like that, that I can spend my voucher on, then please tell me!

Sorry, not a fan of horror. I like some of Stephen King's stuff, but....still not a huge fan of it.
However, if you like suspense, I would recommend "House" by Ted Dekker and Frank Peretti. It scared me a little bit; but it was just mostly suspenseful and not quite so horrific. Something to keep in mind, though: My mother hated the book, and I loved it. It seems to be one of those books where you either love it or you hate it; so....yeah. X) Just be warned; you could end up on either end of the scope.

They're amazing. c:

Yes, they are! :) Everyone said they hated Mockingjay, but I kinda liked it. I mean, I hated the ending....but hey. It was better than everyone made it out to be.
I love the series! And, thanks to my birthday, I now own the entire series in hardcover! :)

My issue with Mockingjay was that it was so rushed and it seemed like Ms. Collins was just killing off characters for the sake of killing them. Whenever I kill a character (at least one that is a major/minor/of some significance), I always make sure there's a reason behind it. She just seemed to want to kill all of them off. I didn't like that. But Hunger Games and Catching Fire were pretty okay.

Has anyone here read Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl? I saw a commercial for the movie when I went to go see The Avengers (I think) and I enjoyed the trailer, and then it mentioned it was based off a novel. Naturally, I was curious, because the plot seemed interesting, and it seemed like my type of fantasy. After waiting for two months, I just got it from the library. Does anyone know if it's good or a worthwhile read? Or is it another Twilight, and I'll just be wasting my time reading it?

lols Today I had a huge conversation with my cousin about the Hunger Games and how the movie was awful and they left out so many important parts. ^^ HUGE conversation. Really loud.

Personally, I love the series. :3 But I'm also really into the whole 'distopian' world thing. |D

I'm a distopian fan as well, so I figured I'd like it. But I don't want it to be another... well, Twilight, I guess. I guess I'll give it a read over Winter Break.

Trust me, it's not another Twilight. :3 When you take away the romance of the Matched trilogy, there is still an enthralling plot.
