but im a sucker for anything shifter-like and the main bottom
is cute to me ;o;

hell, if they redid/continued Loveless ill be happy. That was
my sh*t back in middle school xD

or even if they made crimson spell or any other fantasy/adventure yaois into anime i'd be happy.
it seems there's only comedy/romance yaois out there lately :C

Some shifter-like mangas are Koketsu Dining, Tatsu no Otoshigo, Kuroneko Kareshi no Asobikata and Kami-sama no Iutoori (Moegi Yuu). I'm mainly waiting for the next chapter of Horo to Horo, Feng Yu Jiu Tian and Darenimo Iwanaide at the moment.

i am very disappointed now, it actually seemed to have potential. why can't they just make hentai or eroge if they want it to be filled with fanservice
then again, this author also makes hentai. how amusing

As I said before Najica and He is my Master are filled with fanservice, but it just makes them so funny and they still have a decent plot, but the characters in triage x actually really just look ridiculous XD
Nononono could also be a pretty decent sports manga about ski jumping, but you just notice too much that it got drawn by the same author as Elfenlied...

now that i mention it you should recommend me oneshot yaoi, yuri, shounen ai, psychological or shoujo ai. i barely read amnga because sometimes i just read words and forget what i just read and stuff, but one shots are no problem.

The problem with yaoi one shots is, that they can't cover a big story so most have a similar pattern. I like to read one shots by Cj Michalski and the others from time to time, but I guess you are looking for something with a bit more story XD I would look for yaois with about five chapters, since they tend to have more plot.
One shot: Ai ni Yuku, Kimi Dake ni Focus, Escape, Shounen Zanzou, The Visitor, Jikan Akima Jinbutsu, Yume ni Tobu Tori, Mori no Koe, Boku no Ano Ko
3-7 chapters: Darenimo Iwanaide, Merry Checker, Cut, Blood Chip, Warawanai Ningyo, Kimi no Kao ni Sasu Kage, Sumanai!! Masumi-kun, Soko ni Suwaru na, Barairo Emperor, Koketsu Dining, Tatsu no Otoshigo

So ive finished NHK about a year ago but now im thinking about it again. Curious if there is an anime like NHK and No Longer Human ( manga) where it gets you into deep depression like thinking.( best way I can describe it lol)

i have a lot of sad / scary manga but no happy endings & short manga narrowed my list down a lot rip i'm not really into sad endings / short manga bc it makes ME sad

it's a really cute comedy manga the plot might sound a little strange but it's actually really good?? and the art is friggin amazing wow

From most of these I just need to see the cover to feel like crying, though some are even more sad than the others:

Mugen Dokei, Nageku Shinigami, Present, Shinobigoto, Kon no Ki Konoha, Forever Honey, Birthday, Michishirube, Monster and Child, Toumei na Sekai, Kao no Nai Otoko, Linda, A Million-Pound Love,
Rasen no Kioku, Till Dawn, The Bedroom Girl The Sculpture Room Girl, The Story of a White Mouse,
Shisei (by YOKOBABA Ryo), Dr. Chanbelee, Fairytale of Winter

Mangas that I also find sad, but that are a bit different than tragedy one-shots (means either more happy, longer plot or more psychological):
Hot Milk (first story), Yumenara Samenaide, Ibara no Majutsushi, Hanshin (Iguana no Musume from the same author is also interesting), The Visitor, The Willow Tree, Kimi ga Hikari, Orange, Cubism Love,
Hajimari no Niina
I also find the Vocaloid songs "The Story of Evil" very sad.

Grave of the Fireflies, but that is an pretty obvious answer, I also find Pom Poko very sweet and very depressing at the same time.
Rainbow is pretty depressing ( I only read the beginnig of the manga and watched some amvs so I can't say how good it is. I stopped because I thought it was a bit too much).
Zankoku na Kami ga Shihai Suru is a depressing psychological manga about child abuse.
Koe no Katachi is a manga about bullying in school.

Other typical answers would be: Elfenlied, Clannad, Anohana, Angel Beats, Air and Wolf's Rain
And besides that Valiant Hearts is a very interesting and depressing game about war.

Hard to decide what I would call sad and what even really depressing. There are many anime/mangas that I find very sad, but they don't have that depressing feeling. You can also take a look at the list above about tragedy one shots. They don't have a plot quite like NHK, but they are very sad.

But really sad are also those animes that are not sad for the maintime, but the original plot is sad, like Pom Poko, or Fullmoon and those animes that are happy but trow in some really sad parts that you don't expect, like Pretty Cure, Kamikaze Kaito Jeanne or Blood+.

two of my favorite apocalypse manga are apocalypse no toride, and i am hero
both zombie apocalypse type
and some good horror is gyo, terra formars, uzumaki, tenkuu shinpan, the enigma of amigara fault
berserk, or any of junji ito's works
another apocalypse one i enjoy is distant sky!!
it's a korean webtoon but it's really unique and the art is rather cool as well.
around 30 or so chapters have been translated
