It's really hard to have long, decent responses in semi lit RPs with lots of dialogue and talking...! -.-; I mean, there's only so much you can take, describing the hair and eyes and body figure of the character in front of you, before it gets boring! D:

So, umm... yeah. D:<

Just backtrack, when someone asks you something, answer the question then ask something of your own, then after that do something else. xD Introduce a new NPC or situation, keep the flow going. It's easy as all hell once you get the hang of it. The flow of the RP goes fantastically if the person you're RPing does it as well.

I keep my Posts on CS about 300 words, two, fat paragraphs. Gives everyone plenty to work off. I don't think a lot of people "Talk" enough in RPs. It's mostly just describing where they are and what they're doigng instead of conversing with other characters.

I agree...not too many people reply with dialog to me, instead of too much dialog. I think there is mostly, yes, describing their surrounds on about every other post and their characters thoughts and feelings, which is fine, but it doesn't give much for someone to work with...

Yeah, it is tough trying to write a semi lit or lit reply when you dont own the other character as well.
Hmm, three hundred words... Il have to look into my posts about that, see how far away I am. (FYI: Its very far I guerantee, but we'll see exactly how far xD)

I generally average from 700-1,000 words, easily. I just haven't found anyone to do that with on CS, so I keep them small.

Wow, those posts must be huge xD Maybe you shopuld think about starting an RP with Roseness, I know her posts are really long ^^

Oh well I've found plenty of people who could do that. There's Holli, sєяαpнιм, and I would say Emmaishere comes pretty close to that from what I've seen. I don't actully go count the words, but they sure look alot.

I'm resisting the urge to take notes on what you all say about literate posts. ^^ I have a couple questions, too, if anyone would like to answer:
First, how long does it usually take to write a really beefy response? I usually find it takes two to five minutes for mine, but they can be a bit weak.
Second, how would you respond when your character is alone somewhere with no way to get to other characters? Do you wait, or post about thoughts/feeling/etc.?

The first: It probably take me about half an hour, on-an-off, to finish one. C: But the actual planning is something I'll think about for a few days. xD

The second: I'll usually just have my character sit down and muse about things that are going on. I may wait, but if I'm a little impatient, I'll post. x3

I can type up about 200 words in 10 minutes. For about 1,000 words it takes me from about 30 minutes to a hour. :3

For the second question, you should always start off near other characters, or, contact another RP and try to scome up with an idea that involves both of your characters! :3

Speaking of good lit roleplayers...I had a good RPing friend named Polardream, if anyone's ever heard of her. Her posts just blew me away. XD She was great, and the person that helped aid me up to the point of being a semi-lit. Sadly, CS become hard for her to get on and she quit. I do look up to her, though, and aim to RP like her someday. XD
