When you are buying a character, what are some methods/steps that you use to make sure that the character isn't stolen?
Uh... I've never even considered that... I did run into a character that someone was selling that they apparently not supposed to, but the old owner called them out. They still offered the character but I backed out, not wanting to get in a mess. I guess I'll wait to see other's methods so I can put them to use *shrugs* Most of the characters I have gotten were from people who often sell characters and seem quite trustworthy.
