Most of my stuff for a con in a month is still big time in transit
but I think that con might get cancelled anyway
can we reboot earth and update the antiviral software please?
- Edit-
My con got postponed until august
dance group that I was due to perform with is disappointed
keep an eye on the social media for events you plan on attending, and if you're travelling hopefully you can get relevant refunds

Here's a picture of me in my Zer0 cosplay helmet I got from Etsy!

You can't see my face so it's allowed

The con was cancelled but I'm still gonna sadly soldier on in this cosplay tbh

I want to cosplay at cons and I also want to enter competitions/contest at cons.
For someone that’s just starting to cosplay would it be better to do a hallway competition/contest at my first con, or is it best to just dive in head first and enter a fashion show (I don’t want to do a skit) wherein I have to go on stage?
I also don’t plan to make cosplay from scratch, and instead plan to alter clothing that already exist.
Will doing this make it so that I can’t enter competitions/contest and/or greatly decrease my chances of placing?
EDIT:
If it matters, I won’t be doing any of this anytime soon because of the coronavirus.

Enter a hallway/walk-on contest! Best place to gain experience. If you aren't making something that is at least 75% handmade (rules vary at cons from 50-90% self-made) then you probably won't be able to enter a lot of contests and you will not be able to enter in craftmanship judging.

Thanks for the info!
For my first con I’ll probably definitely enter a hallway/walk-on contest/comp (if I can, LOL).
Even if can’t enter a contest/comp I still plan to cosplay though. (^ u ^)
