I haven't actually seen Rosemary & Thyme but I've seen it and thought it looked pretty good! I honestly really love Poirot, it's brilliant. The only mysteries I dislike are the ones that you can basically solve, because there's only 3 suspects, instantly- but the rest (and it's by far a majority) are all brilliant. It's really hard to do bad mystery stories of any sort, tbh.
I don't know how good I am at mysteries, but having a Detective Cat would definitely give me an excuse to get good by practice. Good to know it's not just me thinking it'd be a cool idea!

Again, being unrelated: I'd like to reference stuff about how not all prophecies come true at some point, like maybe there's a dream where someone gets two prophecies, and they're told only one of them will become true. Maybe then part of working out the meaning of prophecies becomes trying to make sure that if it does come true, the best interpretation is the real one, and prophecies become sort of secretive as the ranked cats don't want to cause skepticism about Starclan among the warriors when other prophecies are coming true (leading to dissent among the ranks if anyone works this out, and, well, Detective Cats). Like, there's enough coming true for it to be clear that ignoring prophecies is pointless, but there's also some which aren't.
And maybe something about how there's an idea that prophecies sometimes only become true due to the cats' reaction towards it at some point too.

Poirot is really cool! I do get what you mean- I demand my plot twist for a good story (part of why I only enjoy watching mysteries and not reading them on a whole. Written mysteries like Nancy Drew or others always left a bad taste in my mouth for being so bare-bones) And I love Rosemary & Thyme! Gardening and murder- what could be better?

I'll bet you actually are quite good at mysteries and I can't wait to see what you come up with! And oooh a double prophecy is neat! It certainly opens up many different possibilities for the future!

I'm debating between Coyotegrowl and Brushfire for the new loner, who will definitely be from Malloweyes's old group and liable to end up with Dandelionbloom. What do you guys think of the names? Considering that Beechclan doesn't care much for traditional naming (there will never be a -fur or a -pelt or a -stripe)

And man you really got Starlingthroat down! I wonder why she was so reluctant when it came to the last one? Hmmm... Well one thing's for sure- they'll all have fun names! I'm thinking Warblerkit, Lupinekit, and Chrysanthemumkit (not in order of the pics) Anyone have any odder names to offer?

Medium doesn't really matter to me; I'd actually really recommend the book version of Robert Ackroyd (first Poirot book I read!) as it does a much better attempt at not making the murderer obvious than the TV adaptation. It's more important that you can't sort of instantly see who the murderer is and such, but they're always best when they're properly expanded.
It's a good way to have prophecies while also having freedom over what to do in response to other clans and stuff if lots of people are doing something similar to one of them. At least, I assume it would be XD
We'll see if I'm any good at them once I come up with some to go with. Probably should do something fairly low-key first Because Gustclan is currently far too small for good murder mystery plots.

also i'm real tempted to put pineclan out there and suggest some other clan try to raid them because i just noticed they're well-stocked with herbs AND prey and herbs so thieving seems like a good option~

I'll have to give book format a try again~Mostly I enjoy the shows because I watch them with my mom late at night. Watching people die is a great bonding experience! I suppose I was just overexposed to trashy ones as a kid and gave up on said books.
