@sol
As far as I'm aware everyone gets those jolty dreams. They're actually one of the easiest pieces of evidence in favour of evolution.
Basically if you're in an unstable position when you sleep (or yourbody just decides to do it for the sake of being annoying, because that's what it seems to be now beds exist) your body simulates you falling, so you wake up, and your instinct is to readjust to a safe position. Most people's arms jerk when it happens- because instinctively you're trying to grab a branch. It's more annoying when it fails to wake you and you fall to your death in your dreams and then that wakes you. Basically primates who wouldn't grab on more tightly if they started to slip out of a tree actually fell to their deaths, so having something to force you to do that is a good thing. If very annoying.
Babies grabbing fingers is a similar piece of evidence- they used to grip fur really tightly so they wouldn't fall out of trees while their mother slept, and it means they trust you to hold their weight (which is adorable). I don't mind that one at all :3
@miss universe
Many congratulations!
Unrelated to that ^: I really want Gustclan to have an unofficial Detective Cat or Mystery Cat rank (Detective is probably better due to Medicine Cat being a rank already). Decided by popular opinion, they are cats who are really good at working hard things out. They might be used to help interpret prophecies, or just to work out what really happened in suspicious circumstances. Eg if three cats went out and one murdered the other two and made up some lie about it, DC or MC job would be to work out that they murdered them. Basically.
It's so rarely used that it's not deemed to be worth a rank, and probably other clans are sort of like "what's the point? Just get a more discerning leader!" Also, it's mostly done by interviews and questioning so Queens can do it too.
It gives me the opportunity to do proper mysteries about murders but also gives an excuse to make punny warrior versions of characters from mystery stories. (Charlocknose for sherlock, Poir-something-French-that-sounds-like-rose for Poirot, Maplewhisker who has some weird accent for Miss Marple, Thymeflower and Rosemaryfur for Rosemary and Thyme etc)
