Just wondering, what is your guys' favourite anime of this season so far?

Hm, I think so far my favorite has been Plastic Memories, with Kekkai Sensen possibly tied with it.
It's so cute and the balance of comedy and heart-breaking sadness is perfect. I'll be crying [ from laughing so hard ] at one point and then five minutes later, I'll be crying because

but it's not like emotional whiplash. The creators did a really good job with balancing those moments. The art is really nice and I seriously love Tsukasa so much x3

Plastic Memories sounds plot-wise like a mix of Mahoromatic, Eve no Jikan, Chobits and Elfenlied. Somehow the robots/androids/cyborgs... tend to be female and most are romance animes with some pretty sad parts.
Still waiting for those funny Denpa Kyoushi moments from the manga to happen in the anime. Denpa Kyoushi is pretty similar to Great Teacher Onizuka which was quite popular once (and now no one knows it anymore...), though Onizuka was a gangsta wanting to see school girls, while Kagami is an otaku.
One of the webtoons I'm reading is Good Robot, also an emotional looking story about Robots (those stories just all tend to end sad...).

i really really REALLY like horror manga and i get really happy when there's a lot of GORE but i also enjoy slice of life a lot haha... i also like yuri and romance manga i've been trying to find a cute romance manga actually but then incest keeps happening when i try to read one and i'm like. i am sorry i don't need this in my life
honestly i will probably read any kind of manga that

• isn't super strange
• a solid plot
• no incest involved I KEEP ACCIDENTALLY STUMBLING ACROSS THOSE MANGAS

Superior Day - horror webtoon that I couldn't stop reading even though I rather avoid horror, because of the strange/funny plot

.: (Constant superb) Extraordinary Animation:. Samurai Champloo
Anime movies always have good animation, but regular anime does not. Noragami did have good animation but it did lose it after the episodes went by ( from what I remember )

.:Most Questionable Ending theme:. Elfen Lied
Lets get this out of the way first.. I don't usually listen to ending themes so I could have missed a weirder one.
Elfen lied is a horror anime with a excellent chorus opening. The first episode seems very promising and Maybe dark to you. The episode ends, but what do you hear? upbeat music? huh? wot m8?

.:Bad But Entertaining:. Tokyo Ghoul
We can all agree that the anime is bad and under paced yadayda. The manga is no exception (If you're wondering why.) but lets move on
Not much to say. The (first season) was pretty awesome and made me wanting and wishing for there to be more. I've started to think how cool it would be to be a ghoul or to have them wandering around.

Go ahead and make yurs too <3 ( can be different rewards I dont care, I just want to read some interesting stuff )

COMPLETELY A LIE. It's not constant, BUT. For an old anime it has some really gorgeous moments starting at the end of the Dark Tournament and pretty much going till the end. /weeps manly tears

.:Extraordinary Stills:. Kuroko no Basuke
IDK if you guys notice sometimes in the anime some scenes get really low quality animation or have a still frame for like 5 minutes to save money to make really awesome animated scenes LOL. Kuroko has like fantastic balance between A++++ animation and actually really exciting still shots.

.:Most Questionable Ending theme:. N-N-Naruto
Well they have so many endings it was bound to happen at some point I guess

.:Bad But Entertaining:. It's gotta be SAO
It's like super fun to watch but, there's nothing too new or artistically exciting tbh? JUST LOTS OF HAREM-Y SITUATIONS AND VIDEO GAMES #otakulyfe

no particular order i put it in; its random, doing this since I have some spare minutes
I'll mention just a few animes though, maybe the more popular ones I like/ recent stuff that aired.
Be warned for spoilers o.o

Extraordinary Animation and Plot/ Must Watch and Awesome Animes:


Zankyou no Terror
Well done and one of the best. They payed attention to almost every detail from small to large and I was just simply amazed by how realistic it was. It did not once ever lose its touch and after re-watching it, zankyou no terror has become one of my favorite animes. Animation is really smooth and just well done in general, but of course, just talking about animations, the plot was average tbh. The OST was amazing and managed to capture the anime nicely.

No Game no Life
I loved the colorful and vivid outlook on this anime, definitely unique in its own way. Good animation and style which I enjoyed throughout the entire time and it didn't falter any moment. I loved the plot, which managed to keep audience entertained with the duo's brilliant ideas [cries I feel dumb compared to them now] and craving for new episodes. Plus I definitely can't wait for a season two, definitely has a lot of potential with where it ended! Again, great OST and gives the anime a good feel.

Aldnoah Zero
Yes, many people hate it, or mainly, the fandom is divided to two teams, #teaminaho and #teamslaine [yess i'm a team slaine deal with it c;], but a truly amazing piece of art, along with its OST, made by none other than hiroyuki sawano [if you didn't know, the person who created aot's and ao no exorcist's ost]. I've heard many things about it including a cliche plot, horrible characters, bad plot, etc etc. but you all have to watch it, trust me. It turns mecha fighting into a completely new perspective [not a fan of mechas but AZ is an exception]. The animation is mindblowing and despite inaho's opness, that's the part of which I love about and how he comes up with witty plans to fight stronger opponents. I thought the second season was good, contrary to many people's opinions, you really can't hate Slaine, try seeing it from his view and see what he suffered through. He made the right choice. The princess was simply irrational.

Akatsuki no Yona
Ok, everything about this anime is a 10/10, OST, animation, plot, characters, and all. Simply a must watch, plus at least it doesn't take place in the typical feudal japan state, it's a Korean kingdom! The main female protagonist, Yona, has a beautiful and good character developement, and at a good pace. Definitely worth watching. The ending was very peaceful and satisfying. Can't wait for season two!

Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei
Good and smooth animations, with your typical genius and op main character, but nonetheless enjoyable. You may have to do a little research since the anime does not explain everything and the magic system is pretty complicated and hard to understand. Decent plot, loved the fighting scenes.

Death Parade
A very different yet very beautiful animation, and work of art, this anime. The plot was very unique, not to mention bringing out the deepest and darkest of human emotions through simple games etc. Definitely a must watch.

Hyouka
The animation was beautiful and top notch, no rough patches anywhere. Plot sort of lost a point 3/4 of the way though, and Oreki doesn't give a removed about anyone XD

Guilty Crown
Beautiful animations, I thought the plot was actually decent, but some may not enjoy the ending.

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-Kun
Extremely hilarious and a comedy relief, with unique characters. The main female protagonist was actually no annoying and kawashima and mikoshiba yesss

Zetsuen no Tempest
Good animations, awesome characters, especially Yoshino Takigawa [my spirit animal] and Mahiro Fuwa. Good build up to the plot, but during the second half of the anime, it seems a bit boring for a while, a baddd ending, though I feel in love with the characters. It's basically a modern Romeo & Juliet/Hamlet/Tempest that actually keeps you interested. Worth a watch, very sad though if you like tragedies.

Noragami
Fell in love with every character and OST was an A++. Animation quality was good til I guess the last half of it, but satisfied with the ending, which verged off from the original plot of the manga. Yukine is adorablee

Nisekoi
Hilarious and adorable shoujo with a cute art style [normally I'm a shounen person, shouji is rare for me] and every character
is adorable and cute in their own way. Can't say much about season 2 yet since there's only a few episodes but a good start, can't
wait for the next episode! Meanwhile, the manga is awesome, suggest you guys to read it.

Donten ni Warau
Neat animation and ost, different and cool plot which I found interesting and kept me waiting for new episodes each week. Ending was nice, good to see them getting back together again.

K-Project
Again, the quality of animation was very good compared to when it aired, and generally a sad but particular plot. Loved the OST though.

AnoHana
Very very beautiful cute animation for when it was aired, very nice plot and kept you interested til the end, a very sad tragedy as well, a death of one character can effect the rest! Beautiful story.

Ao no Exorcist
One of the all time favorites, awesome in everything in general.

Mekukacity Actors
The unique and peculiar animation was very very interesting and entertaining, plot was very unique and different, though hard to understand til you watch the rest.

Newer favorites include Arslan Senki, Kekkai Sensen, Owari no Seraph, Danmachi, Ore Monogatori, and a few more but decided to not review any of them yet since they are still new and unfinished, or without a first season ^^

Have one word to say about Owari no Seraph though, before leaving. Now I've seen a lot of people hating/complaining about it due to the growing similarities of how it is compared to Shingeki no Kyojin. [not here, but other sites and on tumblr]. DO YOU KNOW WHY ITS SO SIMILAR?? First of all the same studio that animated snk is animating OnS, second of all the same composer of the SnK OST is composing also for OnS, and third of all, completely unrelated to the whole thing MIKAELA'S VOICE ACTOR IS ALSO SLAINE'S VOICE ACTOR *v* #teammika #teamvampires


Most Questionable Ending theme:


Naruto
The ending like whhaaa?? Literally just trolls after trolls from Kishi and then a random 15 year timeskip and then EVERYONE IS SHIPPED OFF TO A RANDOM PERSON AND HAS KIDS. Hope the sequel manga is good, considering the first chapter is already out, Naruto Gaiden: The Seventh Hokage.

Tokyo Ravens
Had nothing against this [awesome animation, an ok good plot i guess,] but wahh really?? did she literally just die from a few scratches... but then again, it was really sad at that part, so conflicted on that part lol


Bad But Entertaining:


K-ON!
Don't get me wrong I love this anime but IT IS LITERALLY A FLUFFY NIGHTMARE. Just straight plain 37 episodes of fluffy fun and adorable girls in a music club with absolutely no plot. It's almost unbearable but I can't stop watching it at the same time. Pretty much what I have to say about this anime eue

World Trigger
It's still ongoing but a really underestimated anime. Yes, it's animation quality is just terrible if I'm being brutally honest [low budget project] and many bad still shots, plus a few filler episodes that completely bores me. And don't even mention the random openings that suddenly pop out in the middle of the episodes when you least expect it; the anime seems almost like a joke. But I believe that the battles can be a bit entertaining, and at parts, can seem a bit intense, if you've read the manga. It still has quite a few episodes to go [50 I believe or somewhere around there] but its entertained me at the least.

SAO
As Akami mentioned above, yes, basically A LOT OF HAREM-Y SITUATIONS. Nothing more to say. XD Well have to give it a dumbs up to OST and animation, which was done nicely. The only arc with an actually decent plot in my opinion is GGO.

Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso
I actually found the plot way too over dramatizing the situation [ despite it being a drama, wayy to much dude XD, calm yo self, arima kousei], but watched it nonetheless and I found it pretty good. Actually felt really sad in the end, plus animation was just gorgeous and ost was very calming and nice. The main character may seem a bit mental though, nothing bad about it, just warning, and some people may be a bit too obsessed with him...

Tokyo Ghoul
First season was decent to say at the least, a bit rushed but overall good, manga is better though. Second season was meh, I guess the last part was a bit sad? Despite not following the manga, I'd have to say it was decent with the ost, omg, ost was really good and emotional throughout the episodes. I actually loved the opening, fit very well with the theme of the entire arc and story.

Amagi Brilliant Park
This anime... much bright and colorful fun and amusement parks. Plot was a bit weird and random stuff happens in the middle but a nice and cute ending. Don't even know why I watched it... XD

Free!
It isn't bad at all but I question myself to why I am even watching this... BUT SO MANY SHIPS, DRAMA, AND MUSCLE OVER SWIM BOYS

DRAMAtical Murder
WHY AM I WATCHING THIS. Don't even know why?? What is this doing here e.e

Shingeki no Kyojin
Now some people would be wondering why I'd put this here. Well, tbh, the anime and fandom is wayyy overrated, not saying the anime and manga itself is bad though. I thought the plot was average, cool and special I guess? Characters a bit clique but good smooth animation quality. We'll have to wait a little for season two though xd

I get the feeling, that the word unique is used too often sometimes. Some plot and art are less mainstream or even pretty rare, but I try to avoid using unique too much since I don't no enough stories to really say something about that.
