I’ve just realized that Calliope, along with Jake have actually been influencing the story of Homestuck for a while now. First of all Calliope’s drawings are our biggest clue.
She drew Roxy’s Trickster mode before the incident with the juju lollipop! She drew a picture of Dirk’s god tier before he ascended and before even seeing what the prince class looked like. Same with Jake, his “ghost brain Dirk” was god tier before he even saw Dirk in person. This leads me to believe that Jake and Calliope have an uncanny importance to Homestuck and to each other. Jake’s symbol was a cherub skull and he has an attraction to said skulls and his last name is caught in an unending loop with Lord English, Calliope’s brother. Jake was named English because Alpha!Jade knew the Condesce was afraid of her boss Lord English. But Caliborn only adopted the name Lord English after killing Jake and taking his name as a trophy.
But I think the most current and relevant importance Calliope and Jake have is connected to Calliope’s strange drawing depicted earlier in the story.
Notice the giant white sun being sucked into a black hole against a red and green background. Look familiar?
Jake is becoming the White Sun and the red fires present from Jade’s planet coupled with the flames from Jade’s Green Sun abilities are creating the backdrop to what I believe is the harbinger of Calliope’s resurrection. But what about the swirly bit at the bottom of Calliope’s painting?
I believe very soon in the comic Jake’s hope powers are going to draw Calliope back into existence and possibly lead to the climax of Homestuck!
You know, I’ve been thinking. If Jade had a house dropped on her, then she is clearly the Wicked Witch of the East. Following this logic, wouldn’t Jane be the Wicked Witch of the West?
And how do you stop the Wicked Witch of the West?
Water.
Backing this up, Jane has a technological issue. That’s why she is the way she is. What shorts out technology?
Water.
When Caliborn did homosuck, he predicted a number of events.
He obviously predicted Jade’s death (The witch dies from her injuries), as well as Jane’s outburst afterward (The robot goes crazy). I’m guessing that the ship in the background symbolizes Aranea and the whale could quite possibly be Meenah. But that part I haven’t gotten is that the “noble mount” is supposed to die and be devoured by the wolf (who leaves to never return).
But who is the “noble mount”? Am I missing something or has this not happened yet? Technically the mount died before the witch but maybe that doesn’t matter.
