Welcome! It's nice to see someone new. I'm Sola. I haven't been projecting my dæmon lately but I guess I just have a lot on my mind XD How did you come across the topic of dæmons and dæmians?

Hmmm, well, I've always been a fan of HDM and, though I don't remember exactly, I think I was going through some emotional turmoil and I basically started listening to the "voice in the back of my head" except I visualized him as a toucan.

Ah, welcome!! I'm Beebs. ^u^ Nice to see a new face!!
I've kind of been considering looking into a more settled form for Vee. She's been shifting a lot lately, testing out new forms. It's been kind of fun, honestly. She still fits well as a sharp-toothed beast, but we'll see.

Hello everyone! I have posted here a bit before, but as I've been away for a while and am seeing many new faces, I think it's best to introduce myself again.
My name is Liv, and my dae's name is Silvestra; her name is where my username comes from. We had been stable as a fox in the more domesticated platinum color variation for quite some time, but I've come to realize how much I've grown since we last figured out new forms, so we're trying a domestic cat right now.
Speaking of which, I pose a question for the group:
What are your opinions on the viability of domestic forms? What information has brought you to them?
I was reading earlier that there's apparently a huge divide in the community. Neither side dislikes the other or anything of the sort, but most are strongly for or against them.

nice to meet you, Huuuuuuh! khulan is a cool name, and ku is a really nice nickname c:
what kind of forms do you guys take most often?
as for domestic forms and viability, i think that if there's a domestic form that has solid research behind it and fits really well then it's totally okay for someone to consider that their settled form! it's only when there's not much or widely varying information on behavior that the viability gets a little iffy for me.
in updates for me and arkaine, he's still mainly just been a coyote for comfort (although they don't fit badly, just not super well?), but i've been looking at barn owl and common palm civet for possibly fitting forms. :0
also, if anyone wants to go looking for forms but doesn't want to go trawling through five hundred analyses, i'm always happy to help! c:

@Silvestra
Personally, my opinion on domestic forms is that as long as the person has thoroughly researched and maybe consulted others for a second opinion about the form, then it's perfectly viable!
(And, just as a side note, I love your daemon' s name!)
@draumer
Ku usually is in the form of a keel-billed toucan, though he can often be found in raccoon or butterfly forms as well. Also, good luck with finding your guy's settled form! I know how long of a process that can be.
@nio
Happy CIE Day to both of you!! Six years is quite a long time c:

haven't posted on this thread since forever ;;
Do you and your dae do anything special on their CIE day?
to be honest? sko and I don't, mostly because we both forget. i don't even know how 'old' sko is when it comes to cie days. maybe this is his third this year? maybe last year? we don't take it that seriously, so we don't do anything special. xD sko has been under a lot of different names and guises too so we kinda feel that it isn't a 'true' cie day because he seems to change so much, in terms of personality, names, favourite forms etc. if we did celebrate his cie day (which i think is the 27th of march) it wouldn't really be a true cie day, because he's really inconsistent and i don't have him around all the time either. that's a question of it's own - does everyone else have that, or am i just really bad at this? xD sko can't be constant at all.
but back to the point sko and i have always wanted to watch 'the golden compass' on his cie day but we never actually get round to it. i think the film from the books that made dæmons a 'thing' as we know it would be a good way to celebrate a cie day, personally!

Do you and your dae do anything special on their CIE day?
Tauriamber is 6 years old, but we've somehow managed to miss every single CIE day, either because we were unseparated at that point or we just forgot. But we're determined to remember it this year; I've set an alarm on my phone to be sure of it.
As for what we'll do...I'm not really sure! Watching The Golden Compass is a good idea; maybe we'll do that. C: I'll definitely make an effort to project and talk to her a lot that day — maybe go for a walk with her, if the weather's nice. I might even bake a cake; I doubt my roommates will complain about free food, even if they don't know the occasion.
--
@Sepia: Yeah, Amber and I have had some issues with consistency too. She's been through several names and personalities over the years, and we've spent a few of our 6 years completely unseparated. I still consider all those to be her, though; even when I didn't speak to her, she was still there, just indistinguishable from the rest of me. So we still forget to celebrate her original CIE day. C:
Her personality has evened out over time, though. She still changes, but it's a lot more gradual than it used to be; more like a natural evolution of her personality than a complete reinvention of who she is. I have been consistently talking to and projecting her for a couple of years now, so that's definitely helped, as well as spending more time on the Dæmon Forum talking to other dæmians.
