FA is a great place to get commissioners. There's a whole lot of people looking to buy art all the time, especially if you cater to a certain type of commissioner like babyfurs, ychs, live streaming commissions, or some traditional art that you send to people.

How long Have you Been in the Fandom? How did you find out about the fandom?: Just over a year (I joined on February 4th, 2016). I found the fandom itself because of one of my friends, who is a furry.
Furaffinity?: N/A, I've been sticking to DeviantArt as of right now.
Toyhou.se?: N/A, can't figure out how to join to save my life. It says something about being "invite only" right now last time I checked, so I have no idea.

Favorite Animal?: Cats!
Other: I have 9 fursonas, actually. I've just only uploaded/gotten art of two so far.

bleh, been trying to get art commissions and its not going so well i got in a car accident and need to pay to have the fender replaced. but then again, i only advertise my work on the furry amino and that place is full of kids aha

ive considered tossing up some of my art on my furaffinity and prices and hoping for some buyers, what do you guys think?

I've heard furaffinity is pretty nice. I don't have an account so I can't be for sure though. I hope you are not hurt at all from the car accident!

to start out get something cheap and simple!!

I (still) use a Wacom Bamboo model (That black and green one, its ancient but it still works)
I think most people go for a Wacom Intuos for starting out now-a-days but I could be wrong???

You dont need a super powerful machine for drawing unless you're going,,,mega crazy???
you may need a disk drive though,
some models need to be installed via a disk so you can have pressure to your strokes like a real pen.

I have a little Lenovo ideapad, I bought it mostly for leisure and college work but it runs SAI just fine
even with other things happening in the background. I think it's only got a 4GB ram?
Cost me about £200 new and I believe my tablet was £65 new.
but you could get them pre-owned cheaper I bet

I have a 7 year old Wacom Bamboo Fun tablet, and my sister has an 11 year old Wacom Bamboo tablet(forgot specific name). Both have never had any problems a simple computer restart couldn't fix(and honestly that was probably the computer or driver acting up, not the tablet). The only thing i've done is replace my pen nib once, because I tend to press hard on pens(they give you 5 extra nibs with the tablet though). We both use our tablets almost daily and as you can see they held up really well, so I definitely recommend a Wacom tablet.

They no longer make the Bamboo line, though the Intuos line is pretty much the same thing. The $200 version is what we both have and the current $200 version is still pretty much the same thing(same active area size and same accessories), just newer and with a different name(and now it comes in light blue!). It's a good chunk of money, but if you take care of it it will last a long time.

Also just for size reference I took a picture of mine. The pencil is there for size, and the silver pen at the top is the tablet pen. It comes in a smaller size as well, but if you have the space and money i'd go for the medium(what i've shown).

As far as computers go, my little laptop runs it just fine and it was only a $400ish model. Tablet drivers for Wacom you download online, so you shouldn't need a disc drive(my laptop doesn't have one and I got everything to work just fine). You also don't need to have a super new computer, my desktop has to be atleast 5 years old and it runs it just fine. You'd be fine with almost any computer most likely as tablets just don't need much to run. It's like using a computer gaming controller, you just install the driver and you're good.

I started with a Bamboo Fun tablet but I broke it so I've moved on to a few other tablets. Right now I have an Intuos 5, I think the small version (the big one was too expensive).
As for desktop, you don't need anything special (I switch between my laptop and my desktop). Just have enough space on your hard drive to fit all your pictures. Eventually, they'll take up a lot of space so I recommend getting an external hard drive so you can move your files in there and delete them to save space.
