ive been wanting to make a signature 'shop' that's a bunch of free templates.
do any of you guys have suggestions for some themes?
they'd be on the simple side, like my signature now.

wow, it's been a hot minute since i've been on this site... got to say i've definitely missed it.

what i would do is scroll through some of the more popular paid signature shops as well as some popular threads to see what some common interests are for cs users. it's been a while since i have been on cs, but i distinctly remember anime, music, animals, k-pop, and musicals to be fairly popular. i would also simply go with whatever motivates you and you want to code, because there's nothing better than being able to code something you enjoy after spending so much time and effort coding sigs for others.

again, that's just my advice, though i must say that it's wonderful that you want to make a free template shop. love the idea!

what's your favourite and least favourite part about coding?

• it's fun to get to show off my creativity. plus, it's nice to have something to cure my boredom.
  it's hard for me to think of one particular aspect of coding that i don't enjoy, as i pretty much enjoy the whole process. if i had to choose, it wouldn't be an issue with coding itself, but instead with me: i never seem to have ideas of what i want to create. it'd be much more enjoyable if i was able to have more inspiration :/

when did you begin making signatures?

• hmm, there's not much to tell. i'm an adult from tennessee, who owns way too many cats. i'm hoping to start a career in computer science in the next few years, but we'll see how that goes. other than that, i enjoy all things to do with english and hope to write my own book some day.

agreed. kpop is still a big one and anime. also,, i've noticed a lot more... 'gothic' themes? if you can call them that. but honestly simplistic signatures are very popular right now so it's great you're offering them for free!

Like others have said, anime and k-pop are both pretty big it seems... At the end of the day I'd say just design it with a theme that you like. It'll make your shop uniquely you. Maybe I'm going too deep or thinking too hard lol. I think it's super cool that you're providing free, amazing templates for others to use!

I agree with what everyone said- but may I also suggest vaporwave? It's a theme I just picked out for my new sig (just finished btw ^^) and I just thought it was so fun! I think I would enjoy giving myself certain themes to design a simple sig for. Or you could use coolors.co to generate a color pallet and then make a sig based off that! but as everyone else has said, if you make sigs you enjoy making & you like how they turn out, that's all you need.

As I mentioned before, I just finished my new sig and I'm pretty excited ^^ I was inspired by SqdPxl on deviantart- check out their pixel art, it's great. And I'm loving the nightvale vibes. The coloring of it was definitely a challenge for me, but a lot of fun and it feels fairly unique. I haven't changed my sig in at least a year so I'm just excited lol

welcome! I definitely am not super duper active on this thread, but I'd like to be ^^ I get you with the inspiration thing. I had a sig shop for a bit hoping it would force me to be more creative- I tend to get stuck with the same layouts no matter what I'm coding. But once I get an idea, I don't do anything else til it's done- a bit of a problem really. I also agree that coding is great for boredom. Also, writing a book sounds like a rad goal ^^

I L O V E your signature oml it's sosososo pretty! The colors are so lovely and I'm weak for pixel art o; Like you said, it is very unique! I love the vibes, kinda chill and maybe even a little vintage sorta vibe?? At least for me lol

I see everyone making sig shops, it makes me wanna make one... but I'm lazy so oop, I've been thinking about it though. Maybe eventually at some point... I used to have one, like, years ago but it got too busy for me to keep track of. Those that have one, does it still get extremely busy? Or not anymore? Or does it kinda get busy for a little bit and then die down? Just curious... 👀

Thank you so much!!! I'm glad you like the colors, I tend to struggle with that part. Although it was easy this time just using the colors in the art cx I was going for a vintage vibe a bit, that's partially why I ended up picking those lyrics
Also, I love the layout of your sig! I've never been able to make that sorta style work, like my creativity is pretty limited ^^ speaking of, that's why I once made a sig shop to force me to be more creative. I opened that shop a couple years ago and got a fair amount of requests back then given I only accepted 3 slots and said it might take me awhile ^^ but when I tried to reopen this summer, I didn't get any requests. Not sure if I just didn't bump it enough or there's not as great a "market" for sigs... but I loved coding for the shop as it was so I say go for starting your own! Worst case, you get to exercise your creativity while making it c:

Thanks so much for the response! Maybe I'll do something similar with just a few slots and go from there... I didn't know how busy the "market" would be. School has started back for me so it's been a little busier than when I was initially thinking about opening a shop for the funsies. Thanks again for the response! I'll go for it, why not?
