I think wmes are perfectly fine how they are. Bringing money into this is just asking for everyone to fight and turn on each Other. I'm not rich and I will not stand by and watch people who have money strut around with 20 customs and get a breedingevery 2 weeks, while i sit and just cross my fingers that I get a breeding slot and then working my a$$ off to earn a custom.

So, in short:

more chances to win/earn a custom (opening a new challenge, having more contests like the Valentine's contest, events like Christmas, etc)

NO
buying customs and breeding slots
Raffles and donation pools

When the fanclub gains six+ new pages over such a short period of time you know something's up. ^^'

I'll share my thoughts, I guess...

Paid breedings: As an option added on top of the current system, I could support this idea. I don't have much trouble getting slots, but I've seen a lot of users that sometimes do have trouble. The artists are already trying to find ways to help everyone have a chance at breedings, so adding yet another option to the ways that someone can get a breeding seems like a positive to me.

Concerns:
- I've also seen users treat breedings like customs, so involving money may exacerbate this issue and cause more trouble for the artists.
- If there are too many paid slots, it will definitely feel like a minority of the community is being favored which has the potential to create a lot of hard feelings and frustration.

Paid customs: No support. I could maybe get behind the donation pool idea if it is a one time thing, we are given plenty of advance notice, and does not contain 'rare' customs.

Concerns:
- This is a massive community with well over 100 active members (as evidenced by the current raffle adopt). Many of those members either aren't allowed to spend money online (i.e. younger members) or do not have the money to spend (e.g. university students, members with young families, etc.), which means that the majority of paid customs will go to a small sect of the equid community.
- The current system rewards hard work and kindness, which benefits the community as a whole. Money will do what it's always done, create ill feelings among those that can't afford to spend it, and, in turn, cause a rift in the community.
- In regards to the donation pool, if it's done more than once, users that enter each time and never win will get frustrated/possibly feel ripped off. Advance notice so that more users have sufficient time to scrounge together the necessary funds. No 'rare' equids due to how hard users have had to work in the past to achieve them.

This community/species is the main reason I'm still on this site, and I want to see it continue to grow and prosper, but I honestly feel that money will have a negative impact no matter how it's implemented.
Regardless, whatever choice Horsy makes is up to her, I just appreciate how willing she is to consider the community's opinion on this matter. <3

I get what you're saying Skyyfox, but at the same time, the staff for this community are working for free and like what horsy said, we can't eat Wmes or art or use it to pay bills or feed ourselves.

To be completely honest, there have been times where I have gone hungry because my living situation isn't the best right now, and it's been teetering between feeding myself or helping keep a roof over my family's head. My mom is the only one employed and there are 6 people in my apartment. Finding a job is hard for me being a highschool dropout and lacking any job experience, so what little money I make through drawing goes straight to food and rent. I'd rather not ask for money or donations because of my own stupid pride but being paid for the amount of time and effort the artists and staff put in would be beneficial to the community's staff as a whole as well as the species.

Having money and being able to spend it isn't any less fair that not having money and not being able to spend any. Trust me, I've been there and I'm almost constantly there. But in the future, Horsy may decide she wants to be able to pay us with more than customs, Which I love, not going to lie. I love my equids and I love adding to the herd, which she she alone has the right to do being the species owner and creator. No matter what she chooses, I will always loyally follow her lead and support her choices. She always makes good and fair choices on the behalf of the community and I have faith that whatever she chooses will be for the good of the community, it's staff, and the species as a whole.

I understand that change may be scary and unsettling, but sometimes it really is for the better, it helps the community grow and progress. c:

Honestly, if I can say, I wouldn't take any monetary bonus for doing these guys if this came about. I don't know about the other artists, they might, but I do this because I enjoy doing it in my spare time. It's the same with my Eldemore artist position, I am essentially a volunteer for them as I am with the equids. And that's fine with me. If I didn't have the time to devote to it as I needed to spend it earning money then I would step down as an artist. I mean I really do appreciate the sentiment of being maybe offered some money for this, but I don't want it, the customs that I work for and making you guys happy are more than enough for me. Either way this goes I will stay a part of the community for sure, but I personally voted no on this subject. I already stated my general feelings on the different parts before in my previous posts so I won't bring that back up XD but since people were throwing around the idea of paying the staff, I wanted to add my 2 cents on that.

Ok, uh, I'm gonna scoot away from this topic now.
I'm looking for a ROAN mare with an interesting base with slots to spare. I can offer some sort of payment, as in pets, items, or lioden SB/GB. Or art, but I have a lot on my plate right now so it wouldn't exactly be done soon.

Okay I'm just going to say before I get started, that I am on the fence with this. I believe it would be nice for artists to positively gain for their time put in and work with the group. But I have concerns.

1. With Paid Breedings

Sometimes breedings take a long time to complete, this is why I've always been very happy with Kita's sometime used random number generated who she does next thing. But I feel like if money was involved those might get more priority. Personally this is what I would do, I know it's horrible but if I was getting paid I would want to make sure those were done first so if there were issues I could fix them sooner and have the stress of the paid slots done with.

2. Paid Anything.

I'm a stay at home mom with a 2yr old, both of us have medical issues that involve bills, plus I have 2 horses, but beyond all that the point I'm trying to make is I don't have any money for things, at all I haven't worked in years. My husband is the money person and he will not be cool if I ask for money for equids lol! Not to say he wouldn't allow it. He would give me anything I asked if we have the means so I could and probably would swing paid breedings.

3. Commissions for da points or cash.

This of course is a great idea. but think about this for one second. I personally don't have a lot of followers on DA, and rarely ever get comments on my art, so the only people who I would even think might pay for some of my art in commissions would be here in this community. But if everyone here is holding on to their points to pay for an equid (in some form, what ever is decided) they aren't going to pay for a commission from me. Hence this is probably not going to be the easiest thing to do, or completely impossible.

Like I said I would personally dig up funds for breedings, but I think customs should stay earned. Though this will probably never happen for me, they just aren't easy to come by unless you are best friends with an artist (I am not singling anyone out it's just my opinion.) I want to be best friends with you guys because I have no friends anymore and this community really gets me, not because I feel like I might get something out of it. Truthfully I have no need for customs anyway, I would only ever get one and it's actually pretty simple except for the shine so...I wouldn't have a need for them anyway. (Not saying that I don't have other ideas but I would rather earn them instead of pay for them.) If anything doesn't make sense here please feel free to pm me, I have a problem with saying what I mean but it getting jumbled in translation XD.

Now I would try my best to commission certain artist with da points but that would be in the future when we aren't attempting to buy a house...

Shaman is a calm, careful, wise stallion that likes to think things through and has common sense...his mate Lucia on the other hand is a prankster/jokes yet/I'm not gonna take anything serious ever type of quid. Lol

Prince and Freedom are about the same on the fact that they are care free and both in their own little world most of the time. Haha
