I seem to be in a pokemon kind of mood lately. I like to restart games a lot and experiment with different teams or just play with my favorites over an over. Recently went back and played through Silver, then ended up playing SoulSilver, and now I'm playing Platinum for the first time. I'm really attached to the gen 1-3 games, and I also own White and Sword, never really played any of the others (I halfheartedly tried Moon but didn't get very far), so this is my first time actually playing through one of the gen 4 games. I miss the pokemon following you around from SoulSilver though :C that is by far the best addition to any pokemon game, you can't change my mind.
And now I'm thinking I'll play Emerald again after this, want to try trading myself some pokemon I normally don't get to use even though I like them cause they are unattainable or can't get them till the end of the game (like houndour). I sent myself a Sneasel and Spinarak in SoulSilver cause I love them but never get to use them. I should really be finishing my current game before I plan out the next one though.

I feel like I have really bad luck with shinies, I've only found 3 and I've been playing pokemon games for most of my life. My first shiny was a pidgey in Silver. The battery died in that game so I lost everything on it but I wasn't especially excited about slightly yellow pidgey anyway aha.
My most recent shiny is the first one I was actually happy about, it was a shiny Helioptile (now Heliolisk) on Sword. A random shiny of a pokemon I actually like??? yes please
Probably good to note I never did shiny hunting/shiny charm or that sort of thing, but still feels like I should have run into more by now with how much pokemon I play.

When I was younger I collected cards with my sister! Well, not sure I'd really call it collecting, we got enough to play an actual pokemon card game without modifying the rules but that was about it. For a long time we didn't have enough energy cards and would just use any type energy card as the type we needed so we could have enough to play. We'd just pick up card packs occasionally when shopping and play the card game online when that used to be a thing. I never got into legitimately collecting them cause that was too expensive a hobby for young me with no allowance.
