Maybe that's in the beginning of book two? I remember it, and know it's somewhere in that time gap, right after Soren takes her flying with him for the first time.
Maybe it was. X3

Plus the accents I imagine, the pronunciation of canon terms, and all that stuff is so different in my head.
I know, right? I could read a page very quickly and still understand what I'm reading, so much for audiobooks!
Ooh yes this next chapter is going to be good, only 4 more pages to go! >:3

Oh man, Nancy drew. That brings back memories. I loved those books as a kid. Like, unhealthy obsession level of love. I read every single one in the original series and owned most of them.
My granny gave me the first book back when I was six... Christmas break of first grade, I think. I immediately wanted more. XD While all of my classmates were still struggling with Captain Underpants, I was negotiating the librarian to let me check out NDs. (my school had this absolutely idiotic system where every grade had books they were allowed to check out, and none of the little kids could check out real books, no matter what your actual reading level was... hated that with a burning passion)
VOILA! IN VIEW A HUMBLE VAUDEVILLIAN VETERAN CAST VICARIOUSLY AS BOTH VICTIM AND VILLAIN BY THE VICISSITUDES OF FATE. THIS VISAGE, NO MERE VENEER OF VANITY, IS A VESTIGE OF THE VOC POPULI, NOW VACANT, VANISHED. HOWEVER THIS VALOROUS VISITATION OF A BYGONE VEXATION STANDS VIVIFIED AND HAS VOWED TO VANQUISH THESE VENAL AND VIRULENT VERMIN VANGAURDING VICE AND VOUCHSAFING THE VIOLENTLY VICIOUS AND VORACIOUS VIOLATION OF VOLITION! THE ONLY VERDICT IS VENGEANCE; A VENDETTA HELD AS A VOTIVE, NOT IN VAIN, FOR THE VALUE AND VERACITY OF SUCH SHALL ONE DAY VINDICATE THE VIGILANT AND VIRTUOUS. - v, v for vendettasignature credit

Our school was the same! I was reading the Northen lights, Harry Potter and the Inkhart books. in the school library, me and my friend, despite having high reading ages, could only borrow 'reading is fun' books until year 2.

Welcome laura! ^^
That must of really stinked! I was able to check out any books at any grade, although our teachers preferred that we read within our grade level
Ugh, the actual next chapter with Eragon in it is in the next 50 pages e.e I can't even read a page with my brother laughing so loud.

meebas4343, are you reading Eldest?
Now that I thought about that, I need to talk about it.
I've read Eragon twice. I didn't really like it the first time, but when I read it a second time, it was actually pretty good. But then I started Eldest. I got half-way, and I stopped. It's still on my shelf with a bookmark in it, but I just can't bring myself to pick it back up. It was so slow and boring. Eragon's chapters took up 3/4ths of the book, but only Roran's chapters - that took forever to get too - were exciting. If you are reading Eldest, do you agree with me? Or are you enjoying it?
I'm on a semi-hiatus, but would be willing to come back
full time for a good RPG. I'll look at anything, but I prefer
animals, and I won't do Hunger Games/Divergent, anything
supernatural, or anything where the main point is romance.
I've done Warrior cats and Camp Half-Blood RPGs quite a
few times, including hosting my own on another site, but I
would prefer not to do either of those RPGs again. I might
instead be interested in a Hogwarts RPG, or maybe something
based in WW1 or WW2. I'm probably semi-literate, but please,
nothing below that. (And I like RPing male characters, if
you're in need of any.)
So, have an RPG suggestion? Or maybe a trade? Or just
wanna message me? Please, don't hesitate! (;

I'm actually not, but I have gotten into Roran's long stream of chapters when I read Eldest before. Roran strikes again in the last book until the early hundreds to page 210

I still love Eragon and Roran chapters, but Roran just had to attack when the Eragon chapters were getting exciting :U

well, not that anybody asked me, but I had somewhat liked Eragon. no, liked would be strongly said. I read through with no emotion, as I do with most books. however, when I started Eldest... I immediately dropped, because everything felt so... ugh. slow and boring and stereotypical.
oh, and thankfully there is no such system where I live, but the library was so very small that when I looked around I saw that I had read almost every single readable book that was there {except a ton of girly pulp fiction} so I just continued reading at home. my mom always buys a ton of books and never reads single one of 'em, and then the task to at least open them is up to me. and then from time to time she buys books that even I won't read {detectives && biographies} so they just dust there on the shelf.

I had a same teacher. She wouldn't let me borrow books who were to heavy to read ( many pages)
Eventually she got annoyed at how fast I would finish them and let me borrow others hehe.
But sadly, the line got crossed when I asked to read English books ( english is not my first language).
I was in fifth grade ( age of 11)
