I think the main difference between characters and daemons is their feel. It shouldn't feel like a forced thing (for the most part) and you're not really creating a 'character' as such, you're just reflecting the inner parts of your personality - the inner debates with yourself, clarifying doubts, and just general conversation. You don't really need to 'design' them, usually you mess around with projections and their patterns and appearance begins to take a natural and comfortable turn. Your dae sorta just feels 'right', they're not some character you're playing with, they're just there. Don't try and turn them into a character or assign them assorted things, most of it comes naturally. I had no thought at all about Sarophinx's voice - it just appeared as is.

That sounds like a nice idea beebs, I've wanted a token for my dae for a while, but only something subtle, I haven't really found anything yet.

If you live in the US, I wouldn't recommend the feather-idea. All birds of prey are protected under The Migratory Bird Act, and people who are found in possession of parts of these birds are known to get very heavy fines. I'd suggest you get a charm or little totem instead. They're also easier to carry around without them getting damaged ^^'

Perhaps a pendant with some sort of painting or engraving on it? I'm either going to do some scrimshaw on a seal tooth my uncle gave me, or paint a wooden pendant with the aesc (æ).

That's a neat idea! c: Either way, binturongs are listed as vulnerable, so it shouldn't be impossible to buy parts of them if I I'm looking for something real. I already collect dead animals, so it wouldn't be that weird ^^

I would love a coin to be perfectly honest, like the ones Pan and Lyra found in the catacombs in HDM. I don't think I'd like any 'real' animal products.

I can understand why. It takes a lot of commitment to take care of real animal products.
But oh my, I had completely forgotten about the coins! It'd be so cool to have one of those, even if the animal on it was a fat, raggedy bearcat. Tos is getting offended now, so I'll stop talking, but seriously, that would be so neat! ^^

I've finally gotten around to doing some research on daemons, and I think I'm starting to discover mine. I'm in the very beginning stage at the moment, with only the basic form starting to be imagined, but it's coming... slowly but surely. So far I have a maned wolf of some type, with black fur. That's all I really know, and I'm still speculating... I'm dragonkin, so could that also effect my daemon's form somehow? Any tips for my road to discovery with this? I would appreciate it. ;w;

Also, is there a tulpa specific thread on here, or can I talk about them on this thread as well? I'm curious... I need some help with this as well (mostly on deciding it's form, kinda the same issue about with the Otherkin thing). Thank you! ^^

Well, with daemonism, it isn't about just going with whatever feels right. Finding your daemon's true form takes months, if not years of reading about animal behavior and discussing even the most minute details :3 I recently asked here on the thread, and kintype doesn't affect the shape your dae takes. It's purely influenced by you personality traits. My only tip for you is to be patient, study hard, and get to know your own personality traits very well. I don't really have any tips on discovering your daemon's personality though. It sorta just happened along the way with Erastos and I ^v^'
