That being said, Brotherhood's gore level was a bit to extreme most of the time. Does everyone in Amestris have haemophilia or whatever its called? When your skin cuts easily? /tangent

I think so even thought I didnt really pay attention about the gore. I just wonder though they did have a lot of opportunities to make Brotherhood and the original longer at least I thought /cries

I don't think it would have been better if it was longer. They cut out stuff that wasn't really needed for the main plot, which is great. I'm honestly not a fan of filler episodes, which is why I won't touch huge animes like Fairy Tale or Beach with a 10-Foot pole. Brotherhood did a great job of keeping these to a minimum, and sticking more to its plot than to stretching out the show with more fillers.

I did notice that too, but after seeing all of the episodes of Brotherhood and the original I noticed that in the original Alphonse never said one cuss word ,in Brotherhood he rarely said them, even though I know that it was Maxey Whitehead who voiced him in the 2009 version.

And so I completed the first episodes of three spring series yesterday.
Maybe? spoilers following...



Owari no Seraph - Sounds like SNK, characters are like SNK characters, I can't believe it's not SNK! Well, aside from that, I've noticed plenty of people seem to be annoyed by Owari no Seraph and SNK comparisons, so I'll stop there lest I be ostracized from the fandom. Yuuichirou might be a strong contender in the competition for 'most traumatic childhood known to mankind'. Noting that there's official art of Mikaela in different clothing and noticeably older, I'm assuming that somehow he survives. The background art is beautiful. Maybe it's not sharply detailed, but it's got this nice painterly effect. And the vampire, what was his name again? He's one of those characters that's probably incredibly dangerous and definitely incredibly attractive [ he actually reminds me a lot of Su-won from Akatsuki no Yona ]. Lastly, that scene near the end, that was brutal. I didn't expect it to be that severe. I'm not hooked yet, probably because I'm skeptical of this typical 'gotta kill em all' plotline, but I'll keep watching and as long as it isn't a blatant repeat of what I've already seen in other series...

Re-Kan! - Surprise! it's not ecchi [ I think ], which is a relief for me. I'm surprised at how cute the show is; it's comedic and heartwarming without being ostentatious. Might not be my favorite out of this season because so far it lacks any psychological depth, but it's a great watch so far and I was thoroughly entertained by just the first episode. The characters are all pretty likeable, albeit composed from slightly over-used tropes, considering that one of the main characters is tsundere through-and-through. Definitely a sweet and funny show that I'm looking forward to continuing.

Plastic Memories - It should be illegal to make a first episode that sad.
Ahaha, I'm just kidding! Though I'm accustomed to perhaps shedding a few tears near the end of a series, this is the first time that a first episode has made me cry. I didn't expect the feels; I'm relieved it's not ecchi [ I'm looking at you, Chobits ]; I'm engaged by the premise of the show. Though...I wonder how much use a Giftia's partner will ever be working in such a job? The characters are all charismatic. This show is probably my favorite of the season [ so far ], but today I've got to tackle some more new series, so my opinion might change. The good thing is that the depressing moments don't weigh too much on the emotions, so the show retains a lighthearted tone even though it's a bit melancholy. I woke up this morning thinking, 'Yes, the first episode of the series was sad, but I'm not emotionally bogged down by it today'. That's not to say it didn't have an impact- saying goodbye to Giftias was portrayed as an action involving lots of human emotion, making it a relatable experience even though we have nothing of the sort. Because haven't we all had to say goodbye to someone, if only temporarily?
