Hey, all. I put up my form many pages ago and have mainly been lurking on this page but I've been meaning to get up the courage to post here. I'm a pretty shy person and I've been looking for more furry friends. If it's any incentive to be my friend, I'll draw pictures for you

You can always tell them what a furry is by using "What Is A Furry" section on the first post. I never had a bad situation with friends finding out since I simply draw antro and they caught on eventually. :> I hope it helps, if you want you can also look up experiences from other furries coming out!

Welcome! We were actually going to do a big free art trade on the thread, but I havent heard anything from it and dont know what happened. But, when (my) finals are over I will try to get back to it, I think it would ve a great oppertunity to get to know people and make friends.
(Also, if you are looking to make more furry friends, maybe try joining some furry-community sites, like ones that have fora to talk. I bet you can make loads of friends there too!)

I guess you would tell them like you would tell someone about any other kind of hobby or interest? Like "im really into footbal" or "i play fencing". Being a furry is just a hobby/interest, maybe you could call it a lifestyle, but its not like you have to tell anyone? Unless you want them to join you or something, ive been trying to get my friends to play magic the gathering but i just straight up told them "i play magic the gathering, want to come over too play?"
I also dont know what kind of reaction you were expecting, since they arent obligated to like furries or show any kind of interest in the community. If you told them, and they didnt really care, i dont see what else you would want?

I dislike that too.

The only problem I can see with telling somebody that you are a furry is if they only know the bad side. I don't tell anybody unless it comes up in a conversation because it's not really necessary to randomly tell people. I've had a few people ask me if I'm a furry and I've always told them that I am. Turns out that one of my closest friends are too

i think furry youtuber majira strawberry did a great video on a similar topic. i'd suggest showing your friends this video or watching it to get a gist of what to say if you're nervous. i don't think you should stress it though ;0
