Why and what is the difference? I only played Platinum, but as far as I know there are only some story changes? I think there is no clear sequel definition anyway.

The definition of a sequel, in film, game, and literature context, is a story that takes place after the events of a previous story. Example, B2/W2 take place two years after Team Plasma is defeated in B/W. Second example, G/S/C take place three years after Red defeats Team Rocket

That's one possible definition, but I think sequel is mostly used for any kind of continuation, if it's not called a series and you use terms like remake and prequel only if you want to be more specific.
Anyway, as I said I think remakes can be very good if made right.

Like when people were calling Explorers of Sky PMD3. And then, four years later, the PMD fandom learned negativity... which is funny, because the plot of Gates to Infinity is about the world ending because everyone is negative.

Speaking of PMD:

Furthermore, in Mystery Dungeon 2, provided that the defender can receive critical hits (ie. they do not have Battle Armor, Shell Armor, the Lucky Chant status, or the Critical Dodger IQ skill), male or genderless Pokémon will have a 50% less chance of dealing critical hits prior to modifiers (Super Luck, Scope Lens, Patsy Band, the Sharpshooter IQ skill, or the Type-Advantage Master IQ skill).

Is there any reason for this? Gender in PMD2 is decided by the floor. =/

Um, the first two games were kind of about the world ending, just in a different way. In Red and Blue Rescue Team, a giant meteor was about to hit the planet, and in Explorers of T/D/S, the planet had become paralyzed. It's always been about saving the world from utter destruction.

What I meant was that GTI giving the PMD fandom something to be negative about is ironic because of the specific way the world is ending in that game, if that makes any sense.
