I get what your saying and he has Zetsu wrap around him when he leaves, but it don't really affect his appearance through the mask like that though. The Zetsu part of him is the same as the other half of his body. Maybe when Zetsu wraps around him, he seems taller? I know that sometimes height makes people look younger/older. He looks really tall for his age compared to the others(even kakashi and Rin), maybe that makes him seem older? I know I'm quite short, so people assume I'm younger than I am. C:
