{"K-Kira!" Sterling managed to stammer out as his eyes fell upon the familiar Kia, unable to keep the nervousness from edging into his tone.

It had been some time since he had last seen her, and yet still he recognized her instantly. Immediately, his concentration shattered as anxiety clutched at him, thoughts swirling nearly incoherently as he attempted in vain to calm his run away emotions. What had she thought of the of his... his letters? Even if she had appreciated them, he had no idea if she would be the least bit interested in going out with him. Taking in a deep breath, he forced himself to continue talking lest he lose what was left of his courage.

"I-I was w-wondering if m-maybe... W-well, I-I was w-w-wondering... What I-I mean t-to s-say is..." Pausing now as he realized he was babbling, and stuttering severely at that that, Sterling forced himself to take another steadying breath.

"I was wondering if you wanted to get dinner sometime?" he managed to say rapidly after a moment, offering Kira a sheepish smile.

Kira thought she heard her name and slowly turned around. She couldn't believe what she saw. Sterling. She realized immediately, like she saw him everyday.

Kira smiled and tried not to chuckle as he stammered, just like she had that first night they met. But when she heard his final question, her smile faded. But only for a moment before it returned, bigger and brighter then before. "Of c-course." She said, overjoyed. "I'd l-love too."

What's this? A possible new ship setting sail?
