I've used shiny Pokemon as GTS fodder before. For the record, a Shiny male Salandit will not go fast. People who want Shiny Salandit want females so they can evolve them. I got all of the Ultra Sun exclusive Ultra Warp Ride legendary Pokemon for Shiny Pokemon. People crave Shiny Pokemon more than they crave legendary Pokemon

back in oras, i used to use level fifty to sixty charizard to get legendaries on the gts. it worked a lot, and i remembered that i got a deoxys once from it.

I really don't think anyone will trade a Magearna for a shiny tbh, but the Arceus damn QR code won't give me the freaking delivery notification. I have Magearna registered as seen in my Pokedex, but it's not being delivered to the antique shop in the mall on Melemele.

I just received my copy (preordered the boxed code from Amazon), and gonna get downloading~ Hopefully I'll get a bit further in the game than I managed to get in the other two Gen 2 VC releases! xD
Looking forward to finally seeing how the Celebi event was supposed to play out~

You've got two ways - trying to find one through the GTS (whether by searching to see if others have put theirs up for trade, or putting a Pokemon of your own up for trade and asking for what you're after) OR setting up a trade with someone through a group/etc (this requires sorting out a time both of you are online, what each of you is happy to trade, and swapping friend codes). Personally, for something like those two, I'd recommend chucking something up on the GTS (by "something", I mean something at least partway decent, so maybe an evolved Pokemon, or if you can breed Castform/Goomy/another tough to find Pokemon) and requesting one of the two (then checking back after a while and doing the same for the other if the trade went through fine).
Charmander can alternately be gained through use of the QR Scanner and Island Scan on a Sunday (assuming you're playing USUM), if you do the scans when you are on Melemele (it'll appear on Route 3)

I think I'm going to wait a while.... I still haven't finished silver. I think I beat all the gyms so all that is left is to challenge E4 and kanto.

Speaking of the celebi event, it shouldn't be shiny locked so you should be able to soft reset for one.

spoilers: lemme tell you: defeating ghetsis was the most satisfying thing i've done in a while. and the REWARD 1.2mil poke.... beautiful. i'm rich now.

i really hope there's some follow up in the future considering how giovanni left? i dunno. that'd be cool.

What?? Crystal is out of the VC? I am hardly done with pokemon red and haven't even started pokemon gold! Not to mention my soul silver copy is collecting dust! (probably because I really wanted a shiny starter and got bored after a week of hunting) I really need to pick up my DS more!
