@ego., George is so cute! I just saw Discover advertising him, I'm glad he found a new home so quickly :)

What would you/can you do about an art trade that's taking too long? How long do you consider "too" long?

I am waiting on a particular trade that has taken over a year. The person is always very short in their replies with me and always has some kind of excuse ("virus on my computer", "rough time in real life", "oekaki file got deleted" and many more). And yet, I see they have been posting plenty of personal art and even taken some commissions??? I have messaged them about once a month since I gave them their half of the trade, and usually they ask me which character, so I send them the ref for the umpteenth time, then they say they'll do it soon. "Soon" doesn't seem to mean anything, though. What would you do?

Probably get straight to the point and tell them it's been a year. Tell them it's been too long and you'll call off the trade if they can't get it finished? Or if you've done your part of the trade and they haven't maybe tell them you'll report them?
i've quit CS,
thank you for the nearly 4 years that i've been on this site!

I have already done my side, yes. So if I anger them or call off the trade I won't get anything in return for my work.
And reporting them might be the way to go, but what will the mods do, really? If they owed me pets a mod could create a trade, but they can't exactly force this person to draw...

i'm fairly sure that the mods can have them pay you for what they owe you if they don't carry out their side of the deal since you've already finished yours. reporting would definitely be the way to go in my opinion.

Toyhouse looks cool, though I've got so many charries on my weebly I don't know if I'd want to move them over.
Is Toyhouse easy to migrate to? Are there any limits on the amount of characters or art you can have?

I would suggest trying to come up with an alternative form of payment since it's obvious they aren't going to complete the art. If they refuse that or you can't work out something you are both happy with, ask them nicely to complete their original payment of art within 2-4 weeks, however long you want to give them (don't say over 4 weeks or they will drag it out again). If they don't produce the art, report them to the CS mods. If they can't help you resolve it, I'd suggest removing the colour from the piece they gave you and selling it as a 'Your Character Here' deal, and tell them you have removed the art because it wasn't paid for and you will report them for theft if they don't take it down immediately. Be sure to watch that they don't continue to use the stolen piece.

I would say if you already did their piece you could always trace over it for a different commission or something, yeah you wasted time coloring and editing and such but it is something. You could also try to tell a mod, they may not do anything/can't do anything but it is worth a shot

Well, If I were you I would get right to the point and explain to them why you're uneasy about the trade. If that does not work I would suggest you tell them that they are no longer allowed to use the art you finished until they do their half, and if they continue to use it, report them for art theft. It is only fair. If they don't pay, they should not be able to use the art.

And to make this post more relevant,
