I live in a completely different timezone to everyone so I miss a lot of stuff on this thread while I'm sleeping. /cries

Anyway, I just got reminded of that "stuck in a game world" idea. I'll just quote this...




What if

now, stay with me here,

what if the characters were stuck in some sort of game? Like, an RPG game. No, more like... their life has become a game. Everyone around them is normal, but they're bound by things like power levels, abilities, and such things. So, for example, if they wanted to learn a skill, they'd have to gain enough experience points to up their level. Certain skills would only be available to certain levels. And people could recruit other people to their "party", and run around doing stuff.There could also be things like arcs, and the characters would have to complete them to move on with their life. Each character would have an individual story that they need to complete, and even though they don't know it, the "normal" people outside of the game would have stories as well, ones that could be completed to gain experience points, new story paths, items, e.t.c.

The setting will be the normal world, in present time [or a little bit into the future], just to make the characters' situation all the more bewildering. Also, the characters would have multiple lives, so when one of them dies, they'll respawn at the last checkpoint.

All of this could tie in with my previous idea of people gaining powers and having to live a normal life while fighting baddies and such.



Anyone interested? Maybe I could tie in that whole mecha thing too.... hm.
