0_0 Now I'm curios.
Yeah, I have a few ideas circulating. ^^
*Types away on Micorsoft*
I've practically LIVED in Microsoft the past fews days; I've just been really busy. I actually just wrote a 2 paragraph reply to an RP right now. I find that if I can just get a phrase, I can write anything out after it. Microsoft is my muse machine. ;)

Ah, Yaay, I just got the whole thing done!

*Whew*
I went a little over the limit, the whole thing's 1,966 words and has somewhere around seven and half main paragraphs. Erm... do I need to shorten it? I probably can do, I've already had to once.
The big reveal will be soon, there's still the finishing touches I need to put on, spellchecking, making sure my grammar is okay, etc. And after that's done, I can give you the extended version! xD *Overkill freak* I really love it. I've never done anything quite like it before, though, so excuse any fails that may happen...
Hey guys. some of you may know me as

Okay, before I forget in the busy week I have coming up, here's my contest entry. I tried to make it as realistic as possible and make it not seem too rushed, but It may be an epic fail.
Username: +Master QuatreTitle: Her Name Is SamanthaStory: Mich Schumacher leaned back against the comforting cold of the church's concrete handrail and listened to the gentle patter of the rain on the pavement. It was nights like these that made him happy to be alive. No matter how hard his night had been at work, sitting here watching the Chicago rain fall on the grand stone steps of Saint Joseph Christian Church always made him forget his worries and just maybe give him an inspiration for a new number to play at the club. Him and his Jazz band seemed to be running out of steam fast. Soon they would have to resort to playing off a set list- and that always made everyone unhappy. Mich knew that he had his band depending on him for much-needed inspiration, to get their careers off the ground, but he had completely run out of it. All he could do was wait and hope for the muse to come like a bolt of lighting from heaven.
Almost unconsciously Mich stroked the tarnished brass Alto Saxophone on his lap, tracing the familiar dings and tiny imperfections that gave his baby Álainn[*] her sound. Sighing, he closed his eyes and listened to the lulling sound of the water crash-landing on the concrete outside.
All of a sudden the sound of beautiful piano music caught his attention. Slowly pulling his eyelids up, he listened for it again- where was it coming from?
His ears told him that it was in fact close at hand; the sound wafted out from behind the doors of the very cathedral he sat by. Quietly, Mich got up, crept over to the massive, carved wood entrance, heaved the door open a crack, and poked his head inside.
There, sitting at the piano bench, was a girl. Cautiously creeping further in, Mich blinked in wonderment. She was probably around 16 or 17- and the music she was playing almost brought him to tears. Her graceful hands floated over the grand piano with the deft confidence of an expert. The subtle elegance of Beethoven's fourteenth sonata drifted through the hall, rising and falling- but something was missing. Mich knew right away what it was, so raising his saxophone to his lips, he added a counter-melody, harmonizing with the piano.
The girl jumped a little and turned to face him, but kept on playing. Her eyes widened as Mich came into the light.
Some people deny that Love at first sight exists, but Mich's case was overwhelming evidence that it does. It instantly struck him how beautiful the girl was- long brown hair that prettily framed her face, sweet red lips that mesmerized you as they smiled, fair skin, and the most interesting blue eyes. But the most amazing thing about her, was the aura she gave off- one of kindness, grace, and youthful radiance.
The sonata came to a soft, beautiful end and the two stared at each other for a minute. Finally Mich broke the silence and smiled. "Hi, I'm Mich. Sorry if I messed up the Sonata- I guess I've just always thought it was better with a saxophone behind it..." He stroked Álainn.
"No, you're fine. You play the sax beautifully. And I've always liked it that way too. I'm Samantha Reyes." The girl got up and walked over to him, her small smile turning into a pearly white grin. "My father's the janitor here."
"Nice." Mich nodded. "I love your piano playing, by the way. You're like an angel up there, the way your hands dance over the keys..."
"I thought that your sax was a second piano when you first started to play, and was about to thank God for a gift from heaven." Samantha giggled. "But then I began to think that you were an angel too." Coming close, she ran her hand over his alto and looked up at him.
They stared at each other for a few minutes, and you could feel the intensity and blooming passion in both of their gazes. It was clear that each of them cared immensely about the other. In their minds, at that moment, they both made up their minds to meet here again, someway, somehow. No words needed to be spoken. The connection had already been formed.
"SAMANTHA!" A husky male voice from the back of the church ended the moment. "I'm finished setting up for communion. Time to go home!"
She ripped her light blue eyes away from his dark blue ones, and blushed a little. "Well, It was nice to meet you Mich." With a last shy smile and wave, she dashed off. "Coming, Daddy!"
Mich stood there for a few minutes, watching her leave, the butterflies going wild in his stomach and his heart doing cartwheels. Finally, he turned and walked off back out the doors and into the rain.
He did not come the next week, nor the next. Whenever she visited the church on Saturday evenings, Samantha always played Beethoven's Fourteenth, straining her ears to listen for the sweet sound of Mich's saxophone, but it was never there. For the next two years she waited for him to come back, a maiden waiting for her long-lost love. She was always telling herself that she would play it one more time and if he didn't come he was gone for good, but she never really believed her own thoughts. That little ember of hope in her heart just couldn't die.
As Mich's life was taken up in a whirlwind, and week after week he found himself stuck in the club, he always thought about Samantha. He had experienced a huge burst of muse after that night with her, and it had been all that was needed to skyrocket him and his band to the top of the club Jazz Band scene. They found themselves becoming more and more popular by the day, and it wasn't long before they were offered (and accepted) a record deal. Whenever he was asked why he wrote so prolifically, his only answer was, 'Well, there's this girl...' Though it seemed that Mich was walking a path that many aspiring musicians never even laid eyes on, he wasn't happy one tiny bit. Every moment he spent apart from her was a needle through the heart. Two years seemed like an eternity. He wanted to just see her face again...
Samantha sat down at the piano and sighed. She was about ready to give up. Might as well accept the fact now, he was never coming back. As she once again pulled up the memory of his face, Samantha began to cry, and did the only thing she knew to ease her pain- she placed her hands on the keys, determined to play like she never had before. That would get him off her mind, and she would be rid of him forever. She would have the strength to move on with her life.
Strangely, she found herself not playing a Mozart piece as she had intended, but Beethoven's Fourteenth Sonata. Then, all of a sudden, a new sound entered the picture. At first she thought it was a second piano, but as it reached up to meet the melody it became apparent that it was no piano, but the telltale sound of an Alto Saxophone. Joyously, Samantha spun around, and there he was, standing in the center aisle. Mich. Giving it her whole heart and soul, she leaned over the keys and played with an unequaled passion, her heart soaring higher than the cathedral's ceiling.
The sound was some of the sweetest ever to enter human ears. And when the last note had been played and let fade, Samantha bounded up from the bench, and ran into his arms, hardly giving him a chance to lay Álainn on a bench. All over again, she let the tears fall, and he closed his eyes and wrapped his arms around her.
Never again were Mich and Samantha seperate for longer than three or four days, and in no time both sets of parents found themselves in-laws. No one was happier than the couple though, especially the blushing bride-to-be. Through flurries of media attention, engagement pictures, and preperations for the wedding, they never forgot their roots. Every once in a while, Mich and Samantha would walk to the church and spend a blissful evening doing duets.
Months flew by. The walk down the aisle, the first piece of cake, and the first night and month seemed like only a moment. Everyone remarked on how cute a couple they were, and how happy they seemed to be. Their future was littered with hope, and joy as Samantha made hand-crafted baby announcements. Everything looked bright for the happy couple.
One night, they went to bed as normal. Their new son, Aaron, was silent in his room, and Mich curled up around his wife as she slid into bed next to him. No words needed to be said as they stared into each others' eyes for a long time. She was still as beautiful to him as she had been that first night, at the church, playing Beethoven's Fourteenth. Everything stopped when those beautiful eyes were trained on him. Finally, snuggled together, they fell asleep, each others' warmth pressed close...
Mich opened his eyes to the sight and smell of Chicago rain. He reached over and felt around for Samantha, but she wasn't there. Glancing around, he found he was on the steps of the Saint Joseph Church, Álainn laid across his lap... Mich tried to bite back the tears as he confirmed his worst fears. It was the night he had met her, and when he strained his ears to listen, the Beethoven Sonata wasn't playing.
In shock and disbelief, he stood up, and walked to the huge, chisel-cut doors that led into the church sanctuary, grasping one of the smooth, worn wooden handles. Gently, he pulled one of the doors open, and stepped inside. Everything was more familiar than he felt it should be, considering he had never really been in Saint Joseph before. As he crept cautiously forward, the moon peeked through the great stained-glass window overhead and a familiar figure became visible. A rush of hope went through Mich, and he had to restrain himself from running forward to hug his father-in-law- Wait, No, Mr. Reyes.
"Yes, young man, what do you need?" He looked up as Mich approached. "Can I help you with something? Are you lost?"
"Er- Yes." Mich looked around and tried not to sound like he knew too much. "I'm looking for a young lady, I met her a while back, she's about five foot seven with brown hair and light blue eyes... her name, I believe, was Samantha. She said her father worked at this church. Do you have an idea of who I'm talking about?"
The janitor's eyes filled with tears. "Yes, I know your Samantha very well. She's my daughter. Well, was. You see, she was driving home from a music competition one night, and her car was hit by an out-of-control semi. She died instantly. I'm sorry, son. You've come about two years too late."
Mich blinked back his tears, and nodded. "I... I understand. Thank you." The tears threatening to overwhelm him again, Mich turned walked back out into the rain.
Two days later, Police found a body in the river, that had a weight tied around its ankle. It was instantly recognizable as Mich Schumacher, the rising Jazz star. The cause of death was determined to be suicide by water inhalation- he had drowned himself. Everyone was shocked and saddened by his death. Mich had been at the verge of success, his band had been climbing the popularity ladder and was almost at the top. Why exactly he had taken his life at such a ripe season of his life remains one of the greatest unsolved mysteries of our day. But, in a place where no mortal man can go, he lives in happy, unending eternity with the woman that stole his heart in his dreams.
Finally, Mich and Samantha are together- and nothing can ever separate them again.
===============================================================Author's Notes:[*] = Álainn Means 'Beautiful' in the Irish language. Both sides of Mich's family are pure-blooded Irish, and have been that way for many generations.
This is probably the most depressing story I've ever written in my life. I don't know why I decided to make the ending the way it was, probably just a moment's whim. I actually like the Romeo/Juliet devotion to death concept- it's a tear jerker every time.
