Me too! I would love to go hunt cardboard. For my birthday I might get a real bow and arrow set!

Me too! I really hope I get a bow for my birthday, and then I could practice all I like! And I think there is a type of hunting that is with fake animals but that look like real ones. That would be fun

I believe that's called field archery - they set up 3D animal targets in a wooded area so it's almost like real life. Sometimes those kinds of contests are even held at night, with flashlights! Sounds so fun... need to practice more so I can join one!

I wouldn't just hunt for fun if I did so. That'd be part of the reason, I mean, I've never been hunting but I can just imagine the adrenaline rush... O.o But also it would be for meat, and exercise, and trophies (though that would be so cool to have a trophy buck mounted on my wall :O) and keeping the population at a healthy level for the ecosystem, etc. (Of course, I suppose hunting to keep down population is hypocritical, considering people are the most over-populated creatures on the planet xP But ya know. Don't want the deer to eat out all the berries and stuff that other animals like bears and stuff need)

In between a beginner and intermediate. I like archery and love to do it, but I have no interest in getting full-out serious about it. I do know quite a bit about archery all around however.

I hunt with a gun, but simply have no interested in hunting archery.

I have not competed yet but have been to multiple competitions for family members and hope to attend some in the future :3

*slightly off current topic* I'm really happy 'cause my parents say I can start going to this archery club-type thing down my road after we get back from our holiday! So excited.. My Sundays are gonna be so packed right now, riding then running then archery...
Has anyone ever tried to shoot while on horseback? It looks SO cool, but I'd be worried that I'd either shoot so off target that it goes behind me or something, or that I'd drop the arrow and stab the horse It must take a lot of skill and practice..

Nope, we're all beginners here. xD I wouldn't even think about trying to shoot on horseback. But yeah, it does look really cool! Maybe in like 10 years when I'm a serious pro I'd try it. xD But unless I could run and shoot bullseyes every time while doing so, I wouldn't try it on a horse.

I'd love to be able to do that! But it does look really hard... and I'd be worried about stabbing the horse too. Once I'm good enough at archery, I'll try to do it, though And I don't think it takes 10 years, though it might. Orlando Bloom (who plays Legolas in Lord of the Rings) had to learn how to shoot arrows from horseback for the movie, and I doubt he had more than a year to learn it. But he probably had professional teachers and stuff I don't know, really. Once I can ride without hands and be able to hit a target, I might try. But I haven't even got my bow yet D:
