Dropping in again for a post after a good two years? Heck, why not. I like question-answer-stuff.
If you are settled or stable, does you daemon stick to the form it's supposed to be or not?
We've been stable as a Kakapo for about three years now. Sarkûn uses the form a lot, but there are a couple of other forms he likes to take. It depends on where we are, mostly. Since Kakapos are both flightless and rather large and heavy (for a parrot), Kûn doesn't like to take the form when we are on the move (by foot), instead resorting to one of his two comfort forms.
His favourite is a red tabby cat, as it works well in almost all environments. The second one is a Phorusrhacos, which we playfully refer to as our 'show-off form'.
In a place like our home he's equally likely to take form of a kakapo or cat, with a tendency for cat when we're having visitors or doing house-work, and kakapo when we're relaxing, reading, watching TV or the like.
How do you feel about your daemon taking forms as other animals, and is there any animal forms you can't stand?
We've always loved to play with new forms every once in a while. It's a good source of fun, and occasionally we find different forms to be quite fitting for a situation. While Kûn has his set of three standard forms for everyday activities, it's not unusual for him to change just for the heck of it every now and then.
I enjoy projecting all the different forms he takes, especially if they're the sort that challenges my ability to do so (Haast's Eagle in the middle of a crowded city? ).
I don't really like most primates, though, and I can't remember Kûn ever taking the form of one for more than a mere second of trying. He doesn't take human forms, although this might be because I project characters separately, whether they're my own or someone else's.
Also, does your daemon ever take the form of an inanimate object or a mythical creature?
Inanimate objects? Nope.
But mythical creatures and the like, yeah, occasionally. Stymphalian birds are pretty cool.
And when we're moving around at nighttime, Kûn not seldom takes form of various shadow creatures. Sometimes they're bird-like, sometimes more like big cats... It gives me a sense of safety.
