@KitKat- No but I really want to! I've been watching Bdub's lets play on it c: it looks amazing~ id be all up in those carpenters tools
@1Colour- Me too! It's soooo nice, isn't it? I've been playing a lot of minigames I used to be terrible at and I had accepted that it was my own lack of skills, not lag, but now that I don't have the lag I am doing a lot better. It's a self confidence boost. I can also run it at highest graphic settings without losing any frames per second at all. So nice.
Speaking of being able to do something better now than I did before new computer, here is a really long summary of how a UHC game I did today went, because I'm actually really proud of myself uwu
I played a game of UHC today with a server I play on. 26 people were on so we did random teams of 4 and two teams of 5 (so that's six teams). I was in one of the teams of 5. As it were, we decided to put the game on Hard instead of Normal along with the UHC part of it, so within the first hour I think near half of the players had died to mobs, my entire team except me included.
I was on my own. And the last time I had played UHC with this server I had died within the first 15 minutes to mobs. This was my chance to redeem myself, and I did! Although I was alone, I survived the next two and a half hours. I had golden apples for days (the only way to heal, if you don't know what UHC is, and you need 8 ingots not nuggets to make them. Also, to get the gold to make this stuff, you are not allowed to branch mine- you have to go into caves). Another person was also left as the only person on their team who at one point asked me if I had unlimited apples because I kept taking unnecessary mob damage and eating them, so they noticed my health kept going down and back up (we have it so you can see everyone's health when you press tab).
Had lots or problems with witches and the like, but started heading to 0,0 (spawn) to start hunting some players, as the goal is to be last man standing so if you can survive long enough, you gear up and go kill other people/teams. Most of the time after two hours or so everyone agrees to start heading towards 0,0 otherwise we'd probably never find each other (there is a wall bordering the map so people don't go too far). One team had built a cute little fort at spawn, and while another team had been trying to get a vantage point on them from the hill, I was going in alone. Unfortunately, both teams saw me at the same time and decided to ignore each other and try to take care of me first. I had two teams shooting at me while I was trying to shoot from a very long range on the top of a tree. I had very little luck finding chickens for feathers to get arrows the entire game so I only had 20 or so that quickly ran out. I got a few hits in on both teams, which must have hurt a lot because I had a Power 1 bow, but I was out of arrows. Since they were shooting me a lot and missing, I literally had to run out in front of the tree I was using and collect all of their missed arrows to keep going.
Took no damage from that, and then they must have gotten bored of me because a fight happened between two members- one from each team- that left the team with the fort down to one member. I ran up to the fort, they came at me with a sword, took one shot and they were dead- I took no damage. Unfortunately, that was like my last arrow, and they didn't have any on them so I couldn't do long range battle anymore, which is what I'm better at compared to melee. The other team was still up on their hill, and I wasn't sure what they were doing, but I think we were all waiting for night to pass because the place was swarming with mobs. I stayed in the fort, watching the hill, and we were taunting each other to come out. Once morning came, I gave up waiting for them, and went in myself. They had three people left. I caught one of them on the side of the hill- killed them without any trouble- then headed down. I saw one of their team members heading for me and since I was out of arrows I just went straight in for melee. The battle took a lot longer than I thought- just spamclicking from both of us- because we were fairly evenly matched and probably both had sharpness 1 iron swords plus enchanted iron armor and went into the battle at nearly full health. I killed them, but I was down to two hearts. Their other teammate was coming up on me so I ran, but realized there was no point in running if it was the final battle and I had no way to heal, so I just turned around and took them head on.
They killed me, of course, and I expected it, and even though I didn't win, MAN was it intense! I tied with someone else for the most kills (3) and got through most all of it alone and took out almost all of two teams by myself. I also managed to battle my way through all the mobs in the caves while looking for gold and diamonds, which included two witches at once and baby zombies, creeper explosions, skeletons- everything.
My heart was pumping for a good twenty minutes or so after it ended. A lot of fun! If you want some seriously tough PVP and strategy games for minecraft that only uses the bare minimums of the game and just makes it a lot harder, try some rounds of UHC! Make sure to set aside some hours for it as it usually takes that long. I even had to block myself up and hope no one found me to go use the bathroom part way through LOL. But yeah, super fun. You start out with nothing, and just build your way up from there. Also, don't do UHC on hard mode, always do it on normal, otherwise half the players will be gone before any PVP action is ever seen.
