i am a daemian and a therian.
my theriotype is a snowleopard, and my daemon's form is a nebelung cat. they aren't the same, because i believe that i was a snow leopard in my past life, so that doesn't mean that my personlity is of one in my current life. c:

Greetings, once again, everyone.

I last posted here in 2011. Man, time flies, doesn't it? At that time, I was considering what I'd like my daemon to be. Since that time, I've imagined Occy as a barn owl, cougar, fennec fox, and other dog and cat forms, but none of them stuck except for the cougar. According to these two websites, my daemon would most likely be either a cougar or a trumpet swan. Never gave much thought to a trumpet swan, as I'm not a fan of birds, but the descriptions on those sights match me nearly to a T. Due to this recent discovery, I am questioning whether a cougar is really the proper form for my daemon to have.

Also, Occy rarely speaks to me. Most people with daemons that I've come in contact with have told me that their daemons are talkative, and frequently comment on various things in their lives...and mine just nods his head, or searches out answers, not saying anything for the most part - pretty much the opposite of me; while I do search out answers, I'm VERY talkative, and - at times - tend to talk too much. Is it normal for my daemon to be so silent?

Oh, and I also seem to have an issue with projecting. While some people project during all of their waking hours, or for hours at a time, I project around thirty minutes per week. I project very rarely, and best project in open places with few distractions, when I have no other things that I need to be focusing on. I have not found very many people like me - questioning about daemons, and wondering if what I constitute as a daemon is ACTUALLY a daemon, etc. - who project as little as I do.

Lastly, while I may call my daemon "Occy," that's not his full name. Occy is just a nickname - and I have no clue what his full or real name is. This seemingly-insignificant fact bothers me a bit.

What do you guys think about my predicaments? Anyone have any input for me?

Anyway, I finally got around to 'making' myself a little daemon friend to talk to. He definately kept me entertained in the car earlier - he's got quite an attitude, but in a quirky kind of way. I usually project him as a jackdaw or, most often, a pine marten (I swear that is totally coincidence, if anyone noticed what I mean... lol). But as for a form that I could say he actually is, I don't have a clue.

I'm a wolf therian, so I view my personality as, obviously, very wolf-like. I pretty much act like one. But not in the conventional way, so I don't think my daemon would be a wolf. Anyway, it's hard to project a wolf. I prefer something small.

I've tried him as a pine marten (so far my favourite form for him), a jackdaw, a lesser black-backed gull and a greater black-backed gull too, but that one was a bit to big... I tried him as a emperor scorpion too, which he prefered very much to a weevil. XP

As for a name... I'm thinking either Sebastian or Leonardo. Aww, little Leo. But I'm not sure yet.

Welcome to TDU! If it helps, I feel pretty new at this as well, even though I officially met Vee last year. She's always been there, but she wasn't considered my daemon until a lot later.

I know what you mean when you say you prefer smaller animals.
Vee, who is normally a small caiman, likes to be something small, so she can perch on my shoulder. She's also been a Perigrine Hawk when I'm on a walk or in a car,and will even morph into an Ethiopian Wolf on other occasions! She's normally her caiman form in the water, but she does seem to enjoy being a dolphin as well.

I think I've figured out a form for Leo that actually makes sense with my personality. He's not entirely settled, but I think that's impossible and he's as settled as he's ever going to get. He is now a scottish wildcat. I find them kind of hard to project, but I'll get used to it - and he'll probably not be in that form most of the time anyway. They're not too big though, and the personality fits me perfectly. :D

Funny, I can't project large things... but I can project absurdly huge things. Leo has taken to the form of a huge wolf that stands on four legs about the same height as me; it's really funny because he's so clumsy. He ploughed straight through a flower stand a few days ago and had dead lilys all over his head. In imaginary land, of course. :3

I don't know, but daemons are imaginary - they're not actually there. Talking to your daemon is like talking to yourself. So I guess it depends what the voice is. If it's just your conscience, then it could possibly be something similar to a daemon. But not a daemon, because daemons don't really do that sort of stuff. As long as it is still you thinking.

When I talk to my daemon, I imagine it's kind of like my subconscious replying - I have a pretty good imagination, so he'll sometimes come out with stuff a bit unexpected, or something funny. But he's still me. He's just the instant reply I get from myself, before I consciously consider how I would answer a question or reply to a statement. I can shut him off and I can force words into his mouth.

I'm no expert, so don't just go off what I'm saying... but yours doesn't sound like a daemon. It could just be an imaginary embodiment of your conscience. Or it could be something medical. Either way, if it's troubling you then you should probably seek medical advice.
