yeah, you know how i said i was going to make a lot of awesome replies and everything? i fell asleep. and slept through the whole day. i missed mary poppins and the princess and the frog on tv [ why? >.<] and i'm really happy i've woken up now and haven't missed miranda. but anyway, i'm going to try and get all necessary replies done in the time i have left and i'm sorry they haven't been done sooner.

Moose - 'Violaceous' is one of the best words ever. 'Cognizant' is great to, because instead of snapping "I know!" you can say "I am cognizant of that!" which is snappier. Look up poltroon, if you don't already know it already. And steatopygic. Also, pulchritudinous. I have, on my bookmarks bar, a dictionary and a thesaurus. It's so very handy.

EDIT: Do any of you get nervous about playing a person with a very different background, intellectually, than you? I've got a gamer, a doctor, a forensic accountant, and an ecological engineer; I've only got a smidgen of knowledge about each of their fields. What happens if my doctor character has to perform trauma care for someone? Or, for my gamer character, I keep trying to get gamer culture references, and it's been more difficult than I thought to capture his thoughts right. >< Do any of you have this problem? What do you do about it?

I do a hella lot of research for characters that have traits I'm not familiar with, so I don't really ever feel greatly uncomfortable. I do get a little uncomfortable with characters where English wasn't their first language; I haven't quite figured out how their dialogue would go.
