I managed to get my first shiny pokemon ever (without trading someone else for it)!
I decided I wanted a shiny Eevee so I could get my all-time favorite pokemon, a shiny Umbreon.
Since I had an Eevee already, I figured I'd try out the Masuda method... So after obtaining a Ditto from Japan from GTS, I began breeding and I got my shiny at only 8 eggs in!
I've been playing pokemon for years, and I've never gotten my own shiny naturally. So it's a pretty big deal to me.
Do any of you guys remember your first shiny you got on your own without trading for it?

@Magen
I really wanted to start shiny hunting, so my first one I hunted for was a Delcatty. Three days of hunting! However, looking back now I realize I was just really bad at shiny hunting and could’ve done the same amount of encounters in a few hours.

Hey, does anyone know what happens in this scenario?
Attempt to use Z-Move, opponent uses Fake Out. Will you still be able to use the Z-Move without help from Rotom on your next turn, since the move technically was not activated

Yup! It works just the same as regular pp. If the move isn’t announced, it works. You can also use a z move if you’re paralyzed and use it the next turn

I'm so done omg there's no way I'll ever be able to beat this thing but I need to in order to complete the main storylineee
The GTS is no help either I ain't trading a florges for a florges. This is literally the most infuriating Pokémon battle I've ever had, and I kinda gotta beat him soon since today is the last day of thanksgiving holiday
Imma disappear for a while and figure something out
edit* oh plan!! Flabebe with endeavor and focus sash, gets hit, uses endeavor, switch into another Pokémon and use quick attack
Dear arceus if this doesn't work
Edit* IT WORKED BUT NOW I HAVE A NEW PROBLEM
the light necrozma doesn't even give me a chance to attack it's just BAMBAMBAMBAMBAMBAM HAHA BLACKOUT it's insane! 1 hit KO every time and I have absolutely no idea what to do since I don't have a focus sash anymore
Can one of your Pokémon learn sucker punch? That and teach them other priority moves. I can gift you a focus sash or let you borrow one of my level 75 Pokémon.

Sucker Punch only works if your opponent is about to use an offensive move, so it can be tricky to set up a plan using it. If a Pokemon has no actual attack moves, Sucker Punch is useless against it. It also doesn't work if the user is faster than the opponent.
BTW, would anyone with Ultra Sun be willing to trade their Totem Marowak? I've made a goal to collect all the Totem Sticker Gift Pokemon, but I don't have Ultra Sun yet. I got Ultra Moon no money out of my pocket, but that's only because I traded in some old Pokemon games at Gamestop, and the clerk told me games from Nintendo's best known franchises, Pokemon, Mario, Zelda, etc. are worth a lot more store credit than games that are less popular. I only got $2 for each of my Guitar Hero Wii games, and I thought those would be worth something. Maybe if they were for XBox or PlayStation, they would have been worth more.
