I just finished reading The Book Thief, and I loved it! The subject was really interesting, and I liked how it was narrated by Death. Currently I'm in the middle of reading Clockwork Angel, the first book in the Infernal Devices series. It's very good, I might even like it more than the Mortal Instruments series. I'm glad that Magnus is in it, he's one of my favorite characters from TMI. But Camille is in it too, and she's awful.

I've also started reading A Clash of Kings, the second book in the A Song of Ice and Fire series. Has anyone else read those? I liked the first one a lot, so I think I'll keep reading the series. The remind me a little of the Wheel of Time series, but more interesting. I read the first book of that and thought it was a bit too dull, and the series is so long. Could someone tell me if they get more interesting as you go along?

On another note, I was just at a writing camp centered around Edgar Allan Poe. It was really interesting, and we got to learn a lot about him and see places that he used to live. He's probably my favorite poet, and I love his short stories too. I think my favorites are The Oval Portrait, William Wilson, and The Masque of the Red Death. Anyone else read his stuff?

I'm a pretty big ASoIaF fan. The series only gets better as time goes on, though I STRONGLY advise you against getting attached to any characters ever. GRRM is like evil Santa- he knows what you're wishing for and then sadistically squashes any hope of it actually happening. Makes the books unpredictable, heart-wrenching, and generally awesome, but also extremely frustrating. The end of the latest book made me cry. I had only let out like three tears at the pyre and the red wedding until that point. ;_;

Poe is one of my favorites as well. The Cask of Amontillado is my personal favorite of his stories; Annabel Lee for his poems. I try to avoid talking about my love for his work around most people, though, as they automatically assume most of his work is autobiographical and that he was some sort of fiend, at least in my area. :/ Everyone goes back to the cousin-marrying thing. It's still legal in more states to marry your first cousin than someone of the same sex.

The Game of Thrones... very addictive, powerful, bold... sad, frustrating, infuriating... What can I say? The writer does crash all of your hopes. But you know, until then, you're too much of an addict to stop! X) Curiosity really makes you go on and on and on.. I like them, even though they torture me. Can't wait for the last one! c:

I absolutely adore Edgar Allan Poe's works. His poems are beautiful, and his short stories are also wonderful. Ligeia is my all time favourite, though The Black Cat is far more terrifying. I've read most of his works (I have a volume of all of his works), but not A Narrative of Gordon A. Prym (spelling and exact wording may be slightly different), his only full-length novel. His writing style is just too...not difficult or advanced...quirky, I guess to read an entire novel of.

    'The Black Cat' is my favourite of Poe's short stories <3

    I am at the moment reading 'Curtain: Poirot's Last Case', by Agatha Christie. I already know who the murderer is. No, I don't have a guess about who the murderer is, I know who it is, because I, being a huge fan of Christie's novels, I read by accident in Wikipedia that piece of information -_- So stupid of me.
    I can tell you, reading a detective novel, knowing already the identity of the killer, is not that fun. :l

I love how it's almost impossible to solve an Agatha Christie mystery, but once the culprit is revealed, it seems so obvious! It really is a sign of a good mystery novel.

Oh, yeah! I read Crooked House, and with out giving away spoilers, you'll never expect the culprit!!!! I was kinda floored when I read it.
QUITTING! Don't send trades. I wont respond. And sorry to all my RP buddies.

*Revives thread*

Man, I haven't posted on this thread for a long time.

Could somebody please find me a Guardians of Ga'Hoole or Seekers stamps on DA? For the former, preferably something relating only to the books, because I haven't seen the movie. (I've still only read the first one, by the way. XD)
