So, I had a question that has been bugging me. Here it is:
- Code: Select all
If you are trying out for a plume that is non owner and you win a plume while the contest is running, do you have to drop out?
If you are trying out for a plume that is non owner and you win a plume while the contest is BEING JUDGED, do you have to drop out?
@Vintage. I hope they go to a good home! Trying out!
@Fennikinpaws Might have to
steal borrow your idea there! I love writing stories!
@bright heaven Great job!

@Fennekin - Might have to take you up on that!
@Softballpup12 - I'm not sure, but I think you do in fact have to dropout. Not only that, but I think it'd be better to dropout to give other non owners a chance cx.
spazzy needs some art help again!
To those who do PLUMERIAN linearts and offer colourins:
- Code: Select all

How does that work? I mean, I don't understand how you do it? Do you draw the lineart, colour it in and then keep tapping undo until you return to the lineart again?:
What application do you use?:
How does it work?: I just got SketchBook yesterday, and I'm sure it doesn't work on there:

In both cases, yes you do. Even if it is being judged and you win a plumerian, its not fair that now that your not a non-owner that you should win. Most of those people like in syra's 614# tried really hard, so the polite thing to do is to drop out, and that way a non-owner can win, and the contest rules aren't questioned.
It's like wanting a quarter to get a gumball and asking a few friends. 2 friends offer to give you a quarter, you only need one, yet your selfish and take both so you can get two pieces ofgum instead of one. You should have just taken 1 and thanked them instead of hoarding the other piece if gum. Sorry that sounded little mean, didn't intend to be !! Honestly just drop out and try again on a different plumerian <33 if you got a plumie, congrats !!

@AquilaFuga that ship is adorable! I love the art you got too
And to answer Spazzy:
How does that work? I mean, I don't understand how you do it? Do you draw the lineart, colour it in and then keep tapping undo until you return to the lineart again?:
You can save the lineart as a separate file so when you color it in, you can just revert back to the original. Most programs have the "program file" that you save unfinished works on. For Photoshop, you have .psd, Paint Tool Sai has .sai, etc. You export as .png/.jpg/.gif when you are done. For me, since coloring doesn't take long, I open the lineart, color the plume, save the image as a .png then quit without saving the .sai/whatever file. This way when you open the lineart.sai, it's just the lineart.
What application do you use?:
For color ins, usually Sai. I use Photoshop for pixels. Both of these are not free however.
How does it work?: I just got SketchBook yesterday, and I'm sure it doesn't work on there.:
Hmm, that's a mobile program right? Unfortunately I've never used mobile to draw, so I couldn't answer that. I hope you figure it out though!

@Softball; The answer to both, for me, is yes. You would no longer be a non-owner, and it would be unfair for the other entrants.
How does that work? I mean, I don't understand how you do it? Do you draw the lineart, colour it in and then keep tapping undo until you return to the lineart again?: I draw the lineart, and then save it, and then copy it. then i create a completely new canvas ((on sai)) and paste the lineart there. It's so I don't accidentally save over the lineart and lost my work! ;v;

How does that work? I mean, I don't understand how you do it? Do you draw the lineart, colour it in and then keep tapping undo until you return to the lineart again?: for me I save a grey coloured lineart, get the ref needed afterwards and colour things on a separate layer.
So like
Lineart
Words/extras (optional)
overpay/add/etc. (Optional)
Markings (can be on the layer with normal colour)
Colour
Background (optional)
Save new stuff as "save as copy"
What application do you use?:
Sketchbook Pro.
How does it work?: I just got SketchBook yesterday, and I'm sure it doesn't work on there.:
It's easy to use and if you to gallery and click the colour in, you can edit it.

just j is fine, too.

To answer these:
- First-- yes, you do have to drop out.
- Second-- no, you don't need to drop out but ONLY if the contest was closed (no more editing or forms) when/before you win a Plumerian. So basically you have to still be a nonowner for the duration of the editing/posting period.

I think the first one is a yes, if you win one while the contest is still going on, you do need to drop out.
However, for the second one, no. Judging can take up to a month for some artists, while others move quickly. And if you put in a lot of effort, spent a lot on art for your form, spent time crafting this character, and you've got a right to have a chance to win them!
Always open to art trades
