well, i haven't posted here in a while.

so aespa. i'm quite a fan of AI and vr, so the idea of a mixed reality/virtual group sounds really intriguing as there's lots of possibilities. my interpretation, based off of how ae-karina and my karina were interacting and what i can remember from lsm's speech, i don't think sm is trying to market it as AI versions of the real members, but rather that they are two separate entities based on the same thing. either way, sm has been investing in AI and vr for quite a while so i'm excited to see what they do with this.

from what i can gather about the vr hotel is that its been known since about may and is in/will be in the new changwon building. considering sm ent's ties with disney (mickey mouse club for example) and the current state of AI, it'll probably be pre-set interactions on a screen, probably similar to alexa, or being able to "find" idols in public spaces throughout the hotel as if they were like, idk, easter eggs during a tour.

also! lee sooman is only a producer/creative director and stepped down from the board of directors in 2010. from what i know, he hasn't rejoined it. yes, he does have influence as the largest shareholder, but at the end of the day, he pretty much just produces groups. kim youngmin was the ceo that no one likes (2010-2017), and the current ceo's are han semin and nam soyoung

as for red velvet: i saw quite a few people over various social media saying that aespa's debut was rushed to cover up irene's scandal, however, we knew for quite a while that aespa was planned to debut this year, and when a Q4 schedule was released in september, aespa's debut was set for october, meaning it got pushed back. i was actually surprised that teasers didn't come out in october as i was waiting for them to drop aha. also, compared to 2014, irene's scandal is nothing and has been handled, imo, quite well. as of now, red velvet is scheduled for a comeback in december.

Y'all should check out Zig Zag by Weeekly, it's a complete bop and I'm surprised nobody has really talked about it considering it came out like 2 weeks ago
It's also honestly really refreshing to me that they don't have to wear revealing outfits/inappropriate dance moves for their age,*cough* JYP *cough* who is super bad at that
Their vocals are so so good and the song overall is just super catchy

I 100% agree on what you’re saying about Red Velvet. The issue is that Red Velvet NEVER gets into scandals, so the moment they do, everyone freaks out. Even though this isn’t even that big of a deal. Sure, the stylist had a bad experience with Irene. I feel for her, sure. It sucks to get yelled at. But it was not bullying as so many people claim it was. This was a one time occurrence. She is a human, just like everyone else. It isn’t that big a deal that she got upset, and she went to make it right after she found out how it had hurt that person. She didn’t even say she went in person so you can’t say she did it to save her reputation either.
In regards to Aespa. All good things can be used badly... That is just the unfortunate way of things. I hope there will be precautions in place though...
