I think this might be my permanent username, I really like it.
Omg how long has it been sice I've last posted?o.o
In case you're confused I used to be Talia23...You all have probably forgotten me anyway.T.T
So I've had this roleplay idea mulling in my mind the past day or so and I just wanted to put it down here and see if people think it's good idea or not.
It's kinda a crazy idea, so I doubt anyone would be interested, but...I suppose I should just try.
Ok so it is set in the far future, probably after an 'end of the world' something. I was thinking some sort of chemical problem happened or a large scale nuclear war or something like that. Point is the cities are in ruins, barely any trees/plants/etc left, and what animals are left are either dying or slowly mutating.
Instead of the classic 'gain powers after end of world' scenario...Well I was listening
to a song and it gave me this idea where these people only have a certain number of steps.
See my idea is that for every step (breathing and other bodily functions don't count...I haven't decided yet if arm movements and such count or not) the characters take they have to give something up.
What I mean is that a part of them has to become numb.
It'd be a small group of people with varying ages that realised they are pretty much the last humans left, and that the world is now uninhabitable.
Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it) for them, the world has this giant computer thing now that is literally everywhere.
The computer thing offers a proposal to the small group: For them to survive, every step they take damages a part of them.
It could be physical (like a muscle movement or something) or emotional (like loses hatred, or empathy, or something), or mental (could lose the ability to solve problems, or read or something).
They get to choose what it is and also get to choose how fast the process happens: it could go between 1% numb and 100% numb of a certain thing.
And it can either be actually numb or stop working entirely, mostly this would only be for physical. So could either be numb as in unable to feel anything or you could lose the ability to actually use whatever it is.
That's all I've got so far, it's quite a rough idea. I just thought it could be interesting because some might choose to lose an arm or their hearing or something similar, and others might choose to lose their ability to be sad or something.
I think it'd really come down to how the characters work and what they're willing to sacrifice in order for them to extend their lives.
Oh gosh it sounds so stupid now that I've written it down.
