UNLESS city of ember would be more of a "take a concept" than "take characters/places/etc" from the source. Then I'd prefer CoE.

Favorite type of RP: It depends on my mood and tastes at the moment.
Roleplay sample: The announcer started speaking into his microphone. Adam looked around, searching for the source of the voice, but assumed he was in one of the boxes that overlooked the stage or something like that. "Hello all, and welcome to the Emeragrove Town Contest Hall! Today we have six contestants!" The announcer proclaimed with a booming voice. He listed off some names, Adam and Dani's names included on that list. Adam noticed Gallade and Bulbasaur sitting in the front row, and that brought some comfort to him, due to his anxiousness. "First up, we have Adam with his Misdreavus, and Jenna with her Luxio!" The man announced, and Adam, slightly trembling, wiping the beads of sweat beginning to form off of his forehead. He could do this. He took center stage with the girl. She appeared to be very self-confident, which would be dangerous to Adam. "I'll start. Maybe you should have more time to compose yourself." Jenna exclaimed to him, winking in a cutesy way. He couldn't determine whether she was being friendly or giving him a thinly-veiled insult. But Adam didn't object. With a dauntless grin on her face, she called out to her Luxio. "Use Charge Beam, then hurl a good Discharge at it!" Jenna yelled, and a thin beam of yellow light shot out of Luxio's mouth, and then, it was quickly followed by a blast of blue electricity. The combination was beautiful, no doubt about it. Adam found himself amazed by the wondrous sparkles and sprigs of energy the impact produced. However, he managed to find the courage to call out orders to his Misdreavus. Misdreavus looked happy, so he had to feel the same way. "Alright, Misdreavus, use Shadow Ball, then hit it with Psybeam!" A large dark people ball emerged from Misdreavus's mouth, and shot through the air. Then, a beam of pink psychic energy followed, combining with the shadowy ball, the create a lovely explosion. The judges jotted down some notes. Adam would find out who advanced. (This is an older sample, I haven't roleplayed in a while)
Any semi-lit/lit RPs you have: None. As I aforementioned, I've been a free agent for a while.

i actually kinda like the city of ember idea. it's been quite a while since i've read the book or seen the movie, but still a good idea. i pick choice a. ;o;
