I prefer air dry clay. I don't have to worry what happens to the things I make in the stove and I don't need to buy different colours. With Air dry clay you can also take a break any time you want and just put the unfinished figure in a box and if it gets to dry, just add some water. You can also work on the clay when it's dry a bit more, I often try to make make everything a bit smoother, by softly going over it with some sharp blade. Looking at yours, I would use some water and go over everthing a little, to get it smoother as well. You can also add details in the clay if you make it a bit wet and use a toothpick.
