Do you think a sona should have a similar background as their creator or have a full on story that has no connection to its creator. Example being an orphaned sona raised on the bad side of the streets while the creator has a great family life

No. Straight up, no. All mine have different stories that me, fursona and personas.
Nato: she had a very good upbringing with her sisters only, her parents left them.
Valerie: she is... Like me a lot but she is NOT my main fursona in any way actually. She's the least.
Pierce: he has multiple personalities himself! He is like me. He has a very fun side, an intelligent side, and a cruel side, like myself in ways. He is my main fursona as of now. He doesn't have the same backstory as me in any way. None of my characters do.
Corvi: he is an undead king you tell me. He overthrew his last king, was killed, and came back. He has no family, he trusts no one, etc...

NONE OF MY CHARACTERS ARE LIKE ME IN ANY WAY AT ALL.
Im the person that tortures all my characters. -puts Remi and Caden up- especially these two. Their on their ways to joining Cyrus in my persona catergory.

I'm asking because I'm thinking about putting them up for adoption in Adoption Agencies, but I'm hesitant to do that, because I did pay quite a bit for some.....

Never sold a character of mine. Only character I don't use often is Nato, and I'm thinking of retiring her. I would probably use an adoption agency though, because someone who takes them will most likely love them.

i either trade or sell them, if no one is interested in them, i normally donate, though if its one i've paid 50$+ for, i will try to reconnect of find a buyer/trader.
