How did you find out about the fandom?: since i was a kid! so, uh... 6 years, i think? i just really loved animals and the furry thing seemed super cool so yeah. i faded out of it for a few years but now i'm back full force with a fursona i redesigned kdjfgdjkg i found out about it here on cs!

How long Have you Been in the Fandom? How did you find out about the fandom?: I've been in the fandom for around five or six years now, but I didn't really know I was in the fandom until a year ago! I found out about it when I was looking online.

Hi, does anybody have tips on going to a con safely? There's one in my town, like less than two miles, this summer, and me and a friend were planning on biking up. Maybe not even registering for it (I'm not sure if you need to do that, actually, I'm a bit new) but just going up and looking. Her mom is pretty chill with all the furry stuff, as my friend's little sister already has ears, so she could probably take us if needed, but I just want to stay safe. Any tips?

To get into the convention you're going to have to register (which means you'll have to pay money to get into it.) and when you register you'll get a badge, with the badge you'll have access to the convention! You can walk into the dealers den/go to the parties/go to panels/all that stuff. Safety is definitely a priority for most conventions, if you feel like you're in danger you need to look for a volunteer or staff member and tell them. I also recommend not going places alone especially if you're a minor. While furries aren't evil, in every fandom there can be dangerous people. Don't go to people's hotel rooms, don't follow them into the restroom, common sense pretty much xD
If you feel like someone is trying to prey on you and you are alone, and there's no volunteers or conventioners around you can scream! If that doesn't work bring a taser or pepper spray with you (should only be a last resort) and attack.
Now, with this in mind, conventions are generally crowded areas so it'll be hard to be all alone. I'm sure you'll be totally fine, if you use your head and don't intentionally put yourself in danger. I've been to many conventions and not once have I been in danger or near it, so you'll probably be fine! Have fun, and use your brain <:

If you're fursuiting make sure you have a spotter, and have signs to show that you're uncomfortable and want to get out of that situation so your friend can help you. Now that I think of this, you should do it if you aren't suiting anyway 0:
