Sorry to go back a whole frickin week here but?? This is super cute?!? I'm just imagining all these adorable scenes of her hubby taking care of her and <3
Also she does sound like an awesome character, and I love that you have some art of her too!

Sorry for the late post I've been preoccupied with token hunting and Club Penguin 😭 Hope everyone's doing well!

theres so many endless possibilities of violence with midi's ability LOLLL

and i can definitely imagine being raised as a weapon/fighter can have its drawbacks. as the deuteragonist, does her insanity/instability affect the protagonist? im so interested to see how they would mesh with midi's lack of socialization lol

YESSS UGHHH YOU GET IT YOU GET IT!!! I probably shouldn't go into specifics due to CS guidelines, but she is so fun to write due to how creative I can get with her power and how she uses it during fights.. things get very bloody. Midi's skin does heal, but after all that damage its very scarred and rough to the feel. Girl could benefit from using some coconut oil.
Midi's antisocial nature definitely leads to some tension between her and the protagonist, especially since protag is a pacifist while Midi thinks violence solves everything lol. She also has a GIANT ego from being raised to be a "winner", and meeting someone potentially stronger, let alone TRAINING them, really gets into Midi's head. The drama is crazyyy (but they do learn to see eye-to-eye eventually #found family)

ALSO- From your QOTW: That's such a cool world concept! I'm also a sucker for limited/no technology, and the fact its in the future rather than the past is a fun twist. Thinking about someone smuggling an old iPod nano or something and viewing it as a timeless relic made me smile LOL

Thank you! Her husband (Jet) is like the "tough guy with a heart of gold" trope; acts all rough but is probably the most empathetic person in the whole group lol. Midi has a difficult time processing emotions, but when it comes to Jet she knows something's right.

I also love what I've heard about Sebastian so far! Morally grey, slightly psychotic, quirky.. all my favorites. I'm very curious to learn more about this fellow.

i'm new to the writers' abode!

you can call me: nini or sunny, either is okay !!
my pronouns are: she/they
here's a bit about me/ my writing journey: i started out doing fanfiction and still do write it from time to time (mainly fusion aus and horror), and I also write a lot of poetry on the side that is very vaguely messaged and I will probably never reveal. I'm also playing around with two ideas for original stories, one of which is a coming-of-age supernatural thriller and another which is romance/sci-fi/dystopian. And finally I'm considering carrying on a story my mom started writing when she was my age that she never got around to finishing, because the plot so far really intrigues me !

i greatly appreciate the amount of poets on here who will probably never share their poems -- something about it makes me feel like ive got a lil group of also-strugglers who use poems to release their thoughts :'> my poems will never see light of day.
and i ALSO started with fanfics, but they were more of just weird stories using webkinz characters with my sister ? i classify it as fanfics bc it evolved to me going on wattpad and then ao3 lol

oh my gooodnesss the idea of you picking up a story that your mom started writing when she was ur age is CRAZY CUTE to me. you could finish her unfinished words 😭😭😭 i support this.
and all of your genres seem so neat so far >:) its been a minute since ive read horror/thriller but im incredibly intrigued on that. also im just a sucker for romance, lol, and a dystopian romance takes me back to divergent days 😭 i never was huge into divergent but i respect the premise and, if executed well, a dystopian romance would be a BANGER.

what's your favorite setting to write about, and why?

Hmm, I don't really know. The setting I've written the most about is Warrior Cats, but I'd like my answer to be a little more...solid? Because there's no timeframe for WC, which is good for the story, but...yeah. Idk, it's hard to explain.
Other than that, I like to write about a plan ol' modern-day setting. It's just easier than way.
(Plus, for my supernatural story, it's fun for everything to be modern and all that, but there's vampires and deities and werewolves and all that? It's just cool lol)

bonus: what's your favorite setting to write IN?

If you count "making them up in my head", then I'd say I like to walk around my house to write them. For actually writing them, I only write my stories down if I plan to share them, so most of the time when writing, I just put it into a forum post or a Google slide if it's for school.

Okay I seriously wrote that when I was like 11 or 12, I promise it is not worth the read :')

Also yeah, making up your own creatures/rules is so much fun. I think it makes it more interesting for the reader too! Also I can totally see the mislabeling of your bloodborne & watchdogs being used for comedic relief? I can't wait to get more into this story more (once life is less busy!)

      Okay okay, I'll share XD
Sebastian is from my post-apocalyptic novel that is aaaaaaaalmost finished (just got my PC set up again after moving so 🀞 hoping I'll have time next week to work on it)
He was the child of upper-class mobsters essentially, so his morals are a little twisted (thus the moral grayness of his character.) After the apocalyptic virus happens, his parents are killed and he inherits their money and power, which he uses to live in comfort despite the crazy times, partake in Stronghold politics (that's what the remaining cities are called) and try to track down his nemesis Riviera who *redacted*.
He is also thoroughly bored with his life, making him a bit unpredictable. He's tall, handsome, self-absorbed, and very obsessive.

      I think that's a decent recap?

i'm new to the writers' abode!

you can call me: scmar, Tacky, Zen, any random combination of the letters in my username. I've been called a ton of things and respond to all of it.

my pronouns are: Any is fine. Again, I respond to all and have been called by everything

here's a bit about me/ my writing journey: I started writing a bit more seriously when I was around 14. That was, uh, 15 years ago now. lol I have an abundance of original works, but I don't write particularly quickly on any of them. ABY (All Because of You) is my first 'completed' work, but I've been going back and editing through it because the writing I did back then as a high schooler really did need a lot of improvement. The whole thing is roughly 650 pages long, and it's a ton to get through.

My next most completed thing is Fortis Anima which is probably 3ish chapters away from the completion of the first draft? This one I do have hopes of publishing one day, even if it's just self-published. Please someone give me the strength and motivation to finish this during Nano. It needs to be done already.

Other than that, I have a small collection of short stories, a couple of works with 3-4 chapters that maybe I'll finish, and so many things on the back burner that I doubt I'll be able to finish them in my lifetime.

I occasionally write fanfiction, but I generally find it less fun to play in someone else's sandbox than it is to play in my own.

My preferred genre of writing is fantasy/supernatural, action, and a little twist of romance.

anything else? I'm hoping that by joining here and being amongst other writings, I can find the motivation to work a bit more steadily on my own stuff. Granted, here I am filling this out instead of actually opening the documents. lol

      ----------------------------------------

what's your favorite setting to write about, and why?

I prefer building my own worlds and creating it all from scratch. Generally it's a place with its own geography, supernatural/magical elements, magical systems, economies and so on. Each of my works has its own world and they all have different features. I love them all so it's difficult to pick any one of them. XD

bonus: what's your favorite setting to write IN?

Favorite setting to write in is probably by the fire in the winter. But the setting I actually write in is usually at work when we're not quite as busy. XD Luckily for me, the company network allows me access to google docs.

Sorry if y'all are getting tired of seeing me post/blab, apparently writing is my old/new favorite coping mechanism and I'm very excited to share with like-minded peoples.

      Hi Wolf!! Welcome!
What kind of RPing do you like? I used to do some RPing waaaaaay back in the day. I'm curious what genre/style you like to do with your one-shots too! Any favorite characters you feel like yapping about? (No pressure to share if you're not comfortable πŸ˜„ but I think everyone here is pretty chill).

Fr, I could have written this (although obviously my book has a different name lol). I have so many ideas and started/mostly completely stories, but I am a relatively slow writer so it takes me a while! And have so much editing to do from any highschool-era writing!

scmarshtacky wrote:Please someone give me the strength and motivation to finish this during Nano. It needs to be done already.

You are 100% in the right place! This group (and Ten lol) have already inspired me to go finish one of my old books. It can be so refreshing to talk about work that you're passionate about!

Also, YOU CAN DO IT!!!! (Not trying to make this about me, but the book that I am finishing now was largely written over two different NANOWRIMOs, just sitting down and trying to get words on the page is super helpful for a slow writer like me and hopefully you too????) have you done anything with NANOWRIMO before?

I hope we can help motivate you >:) Is there anything about Fortis Anima that you are open to sharing? (It sounds like we have similar writing interests and I'm super interested to hear about your work, if you're up for sharing!)
