A Little Biography
• Birthday: He was born on the fourth of December.
• History: At the time of Leander's birth, his parents had only just gotten married about five months prior. They were both young parents, only aged about twenty years each. His father, Marcellus or Marc, had previously been in the Scouting Legion Branch of the military. This career had been cut short when his lower leg was shattered. It was broken so severely from being nibbled and not set in time so it was unable to recover properly and he was discharged from the legion before he hardly even got started. After the end of Marc's career he moved on to be a merchant where he met Leander's mother, Marie. Together they got married and had Leander as their first child. He was a single child for only two years before his little sister, Lorraine Marie Wyse, was born. He had a fairly regular childhood up until he was about nine years old. His mother took both him and Lorraine to see their father while he was away. He was helping plan the design of a nice set of a wooden table and chairs that he was to make and sell. Unfortunately, on the trip there, Leander's mom fell ill with an unidentified sickness, accompanied with a migraine and soreness of the throat as symptoms. This delayed their trip, and being as worried as he was, little innocent Leander decided to try and help his mom recover. He "sneakily borrowed" some money from a vendor on a nearby street and went to buy her a little gift. The area was foreign to Leander, and on his way back, with his mom's gift in tow, a hat, he lost his way. It took a week for his mother to come out of her feverish dreams and realize Leander wasn't with her. In fact, he wasn't even in the same town anymore. He'd been found out after stealing, and not wanting to get caught he ran and ran like the scared little kid he was at the time. He only got himself in deeper though as time went on, stealing to survive. More often than not while he ran, he'd meet a generous family that he'd make pity him. He'd always tried to avoid stealing from those people that let him into their homes when it was especially cold out or raining, but he never stayed around long, should he have the urge to steal from them. He lived like this until he turned thirteen, not having the cute charm and appeal as a little kid anymore. He kept stealing, however, until he was fourteen. He'd taken to a life of thievery well and made his primary skill escape. Over the years he'd developed several unusual habits, one being staying awake during most of the night (even when he had a place to stay), and trying to sleep during the day. After all, stealing things in broad daylight was a bit difficult and he was no mastermind at disguises, hiding, or technique in general as he wasn't very organized. It was that year that he was finally caught. It had happened fairly quickly. He was confronted by a member of the Garrison when, having been identified, and when the soldier tried to bring him to justice, Leander wound up assaulting him. Unfortunately, it was him against now a few officers who, in the end, gave him the choice between going into the army or taking whatever punishment was decided. He chose to go into training, and so he did for all three years. Not wanting to be a part of the group that caught him, he chose the Scouting Legion and that was it.
• Personality: Leander is unsociable and a gloomy character in general, not to mention slightly shady. It's not impossible to talk to him, it's simply difficult to keep a conversation going with him when all he does is grunts or gives one word answers. He has a lazy and lethargic personality and is also in a grouchy slump when not well-rested. Leander has a tendency to create awkward situations between himself and other people. For example, he might say something too personal or stare at another for a long period of time. It is pretty uncommon to be able to elicit much of a reaction from him, but it has been done. Leander is only human, however, so emotions are there. They're just well hidden under his calm, reclusive facade. Despite how he lingers off in the corner alone a majority of the time, he is lonely but he just won't admit it. He isn't afraid of breaking rules and quite frankly, doesn't give a crap about most others. Leander's glass is always half-empty and he believes that it's healthier to keep a negative outlook on life since the good die young.
• Likes: Leander has a few likes, but really only a few. He likes things that shine or glint in the sun. He likes dogs, especially as puppies. He likes to take naps during the day since that's when he was used to sleeping in his later years before training. He loves it when it rains because he likes how the rain is "cold like him".
• Dislikes: He dislikes titans, obviously. He could care less for contact with other humans or nearly any other living thing aside from dogs. He doesn't like getting sun and doesn't really care for particularly flavorful foods.
• Fears: Before he really experienced what titans were like, and after he fled from his fear of being caught stealing, he began thinking he didn't have any fears. After the first expedition he went on with the legion, though, he came back pretty shaken, not having realized how frightening the titans could be.
• Strengths: Leander has advanced skills in escape and is easily able to manipulate the situation or squirm his way out of dangerous circumstances. Keeping his distance from others doesn't do a whole lot for him, but it does keep him from becoming attached to people who could die. He doesn't let anything mess with his hidden emotions.
• Weaknesses: He can't bring himself to put trust in people, which is crucial when working in a team. He does what he wants and what he thinks will keep him alive, which sounds a bit selfish. He is VERY ticklish. He's got really bad eyesight (nearsighted). He's also quite lazy when he can be.
• Other tidbits: He carries the hat he got his mom around with him. It's one of the few things he'll actually carry around with him most everywhere he goes. He also has a comfort blanket that he used to wear as a cape. He carried it with him absolutely anywhere he wandered to, which is why he still has it. He doesn't have much recollection of his family but these two objects help keep them in the back of his mind. He's a slob for the most part. He could wear the same shirt for a week and then turn it inside out and say it's brand new. Also, he doesn't make a lot of facial expressions. It's generally the same bored look, so anything else is something to remember. If put in the situation where he did actually bond with someone, as a friend or otherwise- he would most likely be somewhat protective of them in a subtle way.
Relationships and Social Interaction:
• Parent information: His father was named Marcellus or Marc for short. He was in the Scouting Legion briefly before receiving a career-ending injury. His mother, Mary, a nurse and part time seamstress met his father after he came back from a mission in pieces, and she agreed to assist in helping him rehabilitate as best as he could. Both are currently still alive and still have hope that they'll somehow find him again even after their searches came up empty years ago.
• Sibling information: He has one hot-headed little sister, Lorraine. Lorraine had depended greatly on Leander as a child until he left. On one of the Scouting Legion's trips, she thought she spotted Leander and made the rash decision to begin training. Her mother refused to let her join the Scouting Legion, so she's planning on joining the stationary guard instead.
• Friends: Leander really doesn't have many friends. No really close ones, and he hardly talks to anyone at all. He has a difficult time befriending people so it's kind of sad really.
• Enemies: Leander also doesn't have many enemies, or at least not that he's conscious of, other than titans, that is.
• Rivals: Nope. No rivals. He isn't competing.
Appearance and Biological Stuffage
• Face type: He has a thin face that's more on the long side.
• Build: He's not body-builder buff, not a beanpole either. He's really average for a seventeen-year-old in the scouting legion.
• Eye color: He has a steely grey eye color that doesn't vary all too much than just the grey.
• Hair color: Leander has very dark colored brown hair, though the hair that's on the top of his head, versus the hair lower on his hair, is slightly lighter from being in the sun.
• Hair style: He's got wildly wavy hair, almost enough to be considered curly. It's about neck length from behind, and he has jagged bangs that he cut himself, hanging in his face.
• Height: Leander is 167cm (or 5'5") tall.
• Weight: He weighs 124 lbs (or 56kg).
• Skin tone: Despite being out in the sun, Leander is still fairly pale. He can't tan very well and usually winds up sunburnt if he isn't inside or in the woods where light hardly reaches.
• Birthmarks: He has a rock shaped birthmark on the side, just above his left knee.
• Scars: He doesn't have any notable scars.
• Blood type: B+
