My theory is his lovey-dovey caused fatherlike overprotectiveness and, not understanding that he likes her, he acts like a father.

Isent it alwase dissapointing when characters don't kiss? I'm alwase like Yes yes my evil plan is coming together! ... Now kiss! Aww..u no kiss?? It's even more dissapointing in things like Fairy tail where I'm all attached to there characters and come up with couples. (Like Nalu) then nothing happens even after like 120 episodes. Sigh. And it's to obvious that Lucy likes Natsu too.

And not really. A lot of the manga specials do hint to Nalu like when Natsu kept transforming into Lucy or when Lucy cleans his house. I seriously wish there was more stuff between these kind of characters in popular series. I don't want it to just be in my mind. (That sounded creepier then intended. I just meant like watching AMVs) I also wish there was a few more Soul and Maka moments. But I still recommend fairy tail it's very good and I also love Levy X Gjgeel from FT.
