What is Jaystar's history?
Whoo! Story time~~~
Ok Jaystar came into the world harshly. Originally part of a clan called Wildclan. She never knew here father Crimsonleaf (who I've mentioned a few times) because he was a playboy type of tom who went around taking mates left and right (so she probably has siblings in unknown places all over the world somehow...) He had left the clan long before her mother Silverheart even knew she was expecting. But when kitting time came, it was rough, too rough. Jaystar(kit) was the only one to make it before her mother died. Sometimes she used to believe she didn't even have those.
Luckily, a friend of her mother's and a nursing queen named Tawnyflight took her in alongside her four kits. Tawnyflight gave Jaykit her name and took special care of her as if she was her own, but still told her great stories about Silverheart so she always knew where she came from. Although Tawnyflight was warm and welcoming, her kits Hailkit, Dewkit, Pinekit, and Beekit weren't. They weren't at all friendly to her, often ignoring her and excluding them out of their fun, games and adventures. She grew distant from them, withholding her sadness and dislike for them and growing cold.
One day when she turned five moons, Jaykit strayed out of the nursery and out of camp, wanting some fresh air and alone time. But when she came back, the nursery had been raided and attacked by a badger, killing Tawnyflight and all the kits, but her. She was outraged, furious and saddened greatly by the event, more upset about the lost of Tawnyflight than anything else. But she didn't blame the badger that took their lives away, no. She was angered at Starclan. She believed that if they truly existed then they would have done something save Tawnyflight. They would have done something to save Silverheart instead of taking them away. Thus she stopped believing in them, that they didn't exist.
She was still just a kit though, the only warm body left in the blood stench nursery. Foxfur, a warrior in Wildclan and Tawnyflight's brother, took her in. Since his sister had adopted Jaykit, that made her his niece. And thus a stronger bond was formed between the two, an uncle that stayed with her through those cold nights and whispered sweet words to her to fight off her nightmares. Jaykit was truly grateful for him really. But that didn't stop her from growing into a small form of walking anger. She was cold, sometimes harsh to every cat when she became an apprentice, rebellious, snarky, sassy, unable to find flaws in herself (almost how Mistlepaw is now.). She just forced isolationism upon herself and pushed who away all who tried to get too close, even pushing away Foxfur but only slightly.
She did happen to fall in love once, later on, with a tom name Vixenpaw. He was a pushy little guy, always coming around with a smile to talk to her no matter the amount of insults she through at him. He was always there, sticking to her like an adorable little leech. She smiled for the first time in forever with him and was truly starting to believe life was worth living. They became warriors together, earning her name Jaystorm and his being Vixenskip. But on the night of their vigil, a group of rogues who have been a growing problem for Wildclan attacked. Vixenskip was quick to fight back, yelling stupid chivalrous things about wanting to protect her. The battle raged on through the night, Jaystorm and Vixenskip having been separated during it. But once Wildclan had successfully chased the rogue group back where they came from, Jaystorm was greeted with the news that Vixenskip was killed in battle. Once again, she blamed her loss on the wretched stars above, acknowledging them now only the hey loathe them entirely. She became worse than she was as an apprentice simply passing through life with an iron paw, demanding to be heard an listened to.
Her life changed when she almost died herself after approaching and battling a fox singlehandedly even after being told not to. She was filled with anger and needed to let it out somewhere. (That poor fox didn't make it...) She was horribly wounded in the fight and it nearly claimed her life. But while she was on the cusp of death, the Stars descended upon her and the faces of her two mother's and Vixenskip all around her, smiling with great sympathy and love. They told her that she was not alone and that Starclan was keeping them safe and together with her. That she could talk to them at anytime if she simply ask Starclan. Because they were here for her. That little piece of literal heaven was enough to change her views. Starclan hadn't snatched them away, they were keeping them close. And for that she was grateful. She was soon saved from death and healing slowly. She tried to be happier in her life, being kinder to her clanmates, mending her ties with Foxfur, and even forgave her father Crimsonleaf, who had come back to the clan simply because Starclan had told him that he had a beautiful daughter waiting for him back home. They became close in almost an instant. And, just as they had said, whenever she wished to speak with her family and loved ones in Starclan, she just ed asked before closing her eyes and letting their warmth fill her throughout the night. She was a changed molly. A changed molly for the better, and she was happy with it.
And that is my mini novel of the week. Thanks for asking about it Kat~♡
