How long Have you Been in the Fandom? How did you find out about the fandom?: I've been in the fandom since about 2012/2013, I can't really say but it's around there. Anywho, I found out about the fandom through my stepdad (who ironically hates furries), me being the rebel I am had to see what it was all about. Since then, I've been in love with the fandom -- and my stepdad knows!! My stepdad has become more accepting and open to the furry fandom since, he has even said I could go to a con if I had the money.

I'm pretty excited for this week! I've picked out a tail I want, and after it having been my birthday recently I can now afford it. I'm planning to talk to my mum today or tomorrow, just casually mention that I want a tail and show her. If she asks why, I'll explain the fandom to her a bit. It's a way of slowly introducing her and getting her used to it. She already knows I have characters and she actually really likes my main OC Luna.

Thank you ^^ turns out I was just about to message my mum, she messaged me saying both her friend and my aunt have hurt themselves tonight and at least one is in hospital. Maybe in comparison my message might not even make her bat an eyelid!

Honestly I never really explained the fandom to my parents, I just bought stuff XD I was 16 or 17 when I got my first tail/ear set I think though, so I had my own money. Even now I just kinda came back from FurSquared yesterday with just "yeah I spent $950 on another fursuit". I'm an adult with my own job and money now though, so I mean it's not like I have to explain anything to her. Being a minor like I'm assuming you are is a bit different though, but if it makes you happy you just need to focus on explaining that.
