[Typical Aquarius]

If you were given the chance to experience the world 500 years from now, would you take it? The answer I'm sure, is yes. Most people would take that opportunity. Out of the millions of people that applied, you and nine others have been selected as part of an experimental program that will allow you to be in a sort of cold sleep for the next 500 years. At the appointed time, you will be woken up, and you will experience the future.

Though you weren't privy to the experimental program before you were picked, you are now. In order for your body to survive the 500 years without any harm, you will be preserved in a specially fabricated cell. It will preserve you almost as ice did wooly- mammoths. In order to survive those conditions, though, you must be given some help. The scientists inject a serum into your body, that alters your body's function so that it can stand the abnormal tempatures. Before you fall asleep, you are hooked up to all kinds of machines that will monitor thing such as brain activity, movement, heart rate, and oxygen intake. Your last memory is the faces of scientists as they place the last few wires on your neck and chest, before you fall asleep.

It's the year 2500. Advances in everything from science and technology to education and job training have been made. The world is all together different from what we remember. Though the human race has made great advances, those advances served only to hurt us. World War III broke out amongst all the major countries in the world, and nuclear warfare came with it. Cities were destroyed in seconds, people evaporated into thin air. Even the scientists that were tracking you have died. When the war started, you and the other nine were placed safely underground, with instructions to follow once you woke up. Now, you are starting to stir. The war has been over for going on 10 years, and most human life is destroyed. The technology that has kept you alive has finally given out, and you have finally 'thawed', waking up.

You have been awake for a few days. Your memories are filtering through your mind, and you and the other nine have finally placed together what exactly happened. You know that life as you know it is gone, and now, it is simply a survival test. The note left to you by the scientists explained how they thought the war would turn out, but you figured out rather quickly that is not so. Now, you are scared. Scared, and rather alone. And, you have powers. The best guess you and the others can make is that the serum somehow changed you. It gave you supernatural abilities, but even those come with a twist. These supernatural abilities are somehow flawed. They don't work right. Each of them comes with a catch. But, despite your bitterness for the entire situation, you have two choices: stay underground and die slowly, going crazy as you try to figure out what has happened to you, or venture into the world, try to survive, and master the odd abilities that you now have.

Before you ask about the whole 'flawed' thing, I stole the idea from Kiro, I think it was?

This this this. I have a character in mind who uses his own 'life force' with various effects on others that generally end with grievous wounds to himself.

It's basically that idea. The power somehow bites the user in the butt.
My girl, for example, is going to be a shape shifter, but each time she shifts, she finds it harder and harder to regain her humanity. She has to fight, each time, to turn back into her human self and be a person, not an animal. ]


Anyone intersted? No specific gender spots, all sexualities accepted (duh!). I'm only taking ten members, so you can PM me if you're interested!

Favorite type of RP: I prefer to do role-plays with intense plots that put your characters through the wringer, pushing to and beyond their limits. I normally find this in apocalypse (mainly zombie or infected caused), Batman, or survival role-plays.
Roleplay sample:

........Maggie was no match for the group of walkers that advanced upon her. She knew this, but she remained frozen in fear. Nothing could make her feet budge, her mind simply shut down at the sheer number of them. There were at least 12 of the things simply stumbling closer to her. Still, she couldn't seem to make herself move. It wasn't until one of the things was close enough to reach out and touch that her senses kicked back in and she fled. The only weapon she had with her was a knife, far to small and far to slow to take out even half of the walkers that had found her.

........She didn't know where she was going as she sprinted through large patches of thorny bushes, hoping that they would slow down her pursuers, but she knew that she had to keep running. She ran blindly for what seemed like hours but could really only have been minutes, thinking that if she could just get away from them, if she could get far enough ahead, she would be okay. Luck was not on her side though. She stopped so quickly she slid and fell on the layer of leaves coating the forest floor when she saw the opening in the ground ahead of her. A giant gorge blocked her escape.

........Fear bubbled up in the foolish girl's stomach as she whipped around, hoping to be able to run another direction, but the walkers were too close, she wouldn't have enough time to get moving before they were on her. Swallowing roughly she dropped the almost empty basket she still had clutched in her hands and pulled out her knife. As the walkers reached her she tried to force them back, trying to find an escape route, but all she found was more hands pushing at her, trying to pull her close enough to eat.

........Finally, Maggie had nowhere else to go. There was no more room to back up into, only empty space, her knife wasn't enough to push back the walkers that weren't among the few she'd managed to take down. Then the inevitable happened, the walkers overpowered her and pushed her back into empty space, falling with her, not caring about the impact that would occur when they reached the bottom. Maggie screamed as she felt the first set of teeth pierce her skin, screamed for all she was worth. There was nothing else she could do.
