You've been taken on your nineteenth birthday. You don't know how, just know you've been taken. Maybe you were snatched off the streets, maybe you were at a party and your drink was spiked, but whatever the way, you don't belong to the outside world anymore. You belong to them. The government.
You don't know why you were chosen, you just were.
It is only the turn of the 2000th century. Great new things are promised from the world when you heard about the new century coming along. The future looked bright in every way. Now? You belong to them.
Thirteen long years later, you wake up. You don't look a day older then when you were taken.
It definitely isn't a bed and breakfast either. Live wires hang from the ceiling, your pod has a large crack through it and the lights are out. Only the sparks from the live wires illuminate a desolate laboratory. There are nineteen other pods near yours, each in the same bad condition as yours. It seemed like whoever was in here left in a hurry; papers scattered on the floor and even a computer open and smashed. All this disaster, but what has happened?
A sketchy hologram appears in front of you, its voice disrupting every few seconds. It is of a young man, his appearance rigid and stern. He is all one color so it is hard to make out a real description of him.
"Hello, I am doctor Freedman. You twenty have been monitored since you were young and we have decided that you are the perfect test subjects to try and clear all diseases from the human race. So far, you have been in a controlled stasis for about a year and we've been closely monitoring your vitals. You should be released sometime soon, we must make sure there are no nasty side effects fi-"
The hologram suddenly cuts off, fizzing up and giving the look of snow on a TV, then, as soon as it cut off, it came back on. The same doctor appears, though his glasses are cracked and the sounds of sirens running around in the background almost block out his voice. His precise and rigid appearance now sloppy and frantic. Dirt on his face and he looked as if he had been crying.
"Oh god, oh god, what have we done? This is the last entry. A warning if they don't you all first. The pods can only old you guys for another few years. I'll get right to it, I don't know how long I have. We messed up. Something got mixed instead of what we gave you, and it was shipped instead of the original and it set the world into a downward spiral. People got sick, so very sick. Their eyes turned red, they got fevers, they broke out in plague like blisters. They died and- and didn't stay dead. They came back. Oh god, I gave it to my wife! It's all my fault... The world is doomed, it's already spread into all major cities, including London. If you make it, you might be the only ones left. Whatever you do, don't let them bite you. They bite you and you're dead! I gave you something, something that should help protect you... The side effects to the original disease control substance was an odd mutation and gave you powers, it's what we were trying to stop when we continued mixing the solution. We don't know what they are, you have to find out for yourselves. Please, don't make the same mistakes we did!"
A loud guttural groaning came and the man looked up, eyes wide in clear fear. "No... Oh god no. " The camera dropped and the hologram fizzed out, leaving what happened to the man all up to your imagination.
A new feeling becomes apparent. You feel stronger. You feel good, but like something new has been added onto you.
So. What are you going to do with it? Help the other twenty or betray them all?

Awesome, I'll try to finish up coding by tomorrow but no promises since I've got finals looming and I'm lazy about it.

Like I said above, if you're interested in joining my proposed plot you're welcome to. It would probably be a brilliant way to work on becoming consistently more semi-lit as in the beginning of the plot I'm not going to stress paragraphs from people if they can't. Finals and end of semester tests are hard on people and I'm only really going to start cracking down on people when the plot gets rolling. I don't want anyone to feel pressured.

Augh Rosie, the idea looks awesome, but why did the powers have to be already set out and defined? I wish I could use some of my more unusual powers ideas. ._.
