I have done everything there is to do on the survival server I frequented besides getting a staff rank, and I gave up on that dream long ago. I now only go on when a certain person is on, because it's an easy way to make him happy and I live to make him happy. Otherwise, I've quit the server.
So now I play on Mineplex and The Hive constantly, yaaay
You'll find me either being really horrible or really awesome at Turf Wars, TIMV, Block Party, Draw My Thing, or Death Run.

Any other minigame servers that are worth checking out? I'm content to play these games for the rest of my life, but I'd like to expand my horizons a bit.

So this server I play on, ChromaHills, is about to get a HUGE Do over (for the good) It's going to be like this whole rp kind of thing, and it'll be pretty awesome. Right now, it's more of a factions server than an RP (hence the change). I'd love for some of you guys to join my faction (we have 3 people....including me) and hang out!

Which shaders are you trying to install, and on which version of Minecraft? Sildur's shaders work on Mac, and practically none of the others do.

For most shaders you have to all be running Forge, Karyonix's GLSL shaders mod (or a different shader mod), and possibly OptiFine. Then drop the shader pack file into .minecraft/shaderpacks and it should work. At least, it worked for me with 1.7.2 on Mac with Sildur's shaders.

I've tried Sildur's Shaders before, and even with video instruction it still doesn't work.

I've been trying shaders for both 1.7.10 and 1.8.

When I go to the Shaders section of the Minecraft menu there's usually nothing that indicates that it's been installed, sometimes just a folder that says "shaders" and other times nothing at all.

Regardless of whichever it is, nothing happens when I begin playing.

I don't fully understand the terminology for installing shaders so unfortunately this is the best I can explain it.

MCA works amazing on servers.
I've never experienced it on a server before, but my boyfriend heard my constant complaining of "Does it have MCA? Does it have the domestic dogs mod? Then I don't wanna play!" to a friend of ours, and he... he delivered. I stayed up till 1 in the morning waiting for the pre-installed mod file to download, but... it was worth it.
Marrying other players and having kids with them is so cool. We're not very good parents, but we try!
I'm so happy I got to experience it on a server, though. I'd given up completely.

How does one get Minecraft on the PC? Because I got a Chomebook for my birthday, and I really want to play PC on it. Do I have to download it from the website, or can I get the disc? And which would be easier? And which lets me on servers like the Hive and Mineplex?

"Minecraft will not run on a Chromebook under default settings. Because of this, Minecraft's system requirements list that it is compatible only with Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems. Chromebooks use Google's Chrome OS, which is essentially a web browser. These computers are not optimized for gaming. In order to play Minecraft on a Chromebook, you would have to "root" your device to access the Linux kernel (though that defeats the purpose of a Chromebook). If you would like to do this, a number of guides are available on the internet, but please be aware that this does not ensure full compatibility with Minecraft."

So yeah, unless you are willing to do all that, then Minecraft can't be played on a Chromebook. If you're talking about the PC ROM Disc, that'll let you on servers I believe. Chromebooks don't have a DVD/Disc player though.
