Certain Pokemon, of the same species, are harder to find than others, mainly the different types of Flabebe, the White Flower being the rarest with a 1% encounter rate. Anyway, that's the most advice I can give. Also, if you have a Grass type, don't use it against the second Gym Leader's first Pokemon, it is a Rock/Ice type with one Ice type move, albeit a week one, but it makes up for that by using it's ability to turn Take Down into an Ice type move
Good to know, thanks :3 and if someone else has advice I'm all ears
if you want to be good with the game, make sure you heal OFTEN!!!!! This game is hard if you have underleveled pokemon.
if you switch out all of your team members, and you don't have the EXP share, go to the route that matches their level. for example, if you have a level 25 Flareon (sorry, i like flareon.) you would go to route 12.
if you have EXP share, put them at the end of your party and, if you've gotten there, go to route 21 and victory road. the pokemon there are levels 28 (in hordes) to 59. making them the highest leveled pokemon being able to be found before you beat the champion.
and more: you can beat the Elite 4 as many times you want, and they give you 13,000 pokebucks (what is it even called?) each, so that is 52K if you don't lose. but you can't heal your pokemon at centers when fighting them, so make sure you have plenty of elixers, hyper potions and full restores. and they all have around level 66 pokemon.
advice for the champion? i'll let you take care of that. it'll spoil the game.
and ranma? i used my quilladin against grant, and he never fainted! but yeah furry, if you use a grass type against grant, you're gonna have a bad time against that 1st pokemon. but his second one? i actually did pretty good against that with Jordan the Quilladin. but yeah. you may want to try to find an axew in connecting cave, as his second pokemon is part dragon. try to get Dragon Rage, and if you can't find an axew, get charmander. he learns dragon rage at level 17, so that's good against his second pokemon.
believe me, i've beaten the elite 4 twice with only 1 legendary and that's a required one.
also, i've never experienced this, but you can find the gym leaders in the Battle Chateau. he still has the same pokemon, but evolved. the level will fluctuate.
